Best viewed large. Side view of the three cascades at the top tier of National Falls, / Royal National Park just south of Sydney Australia. From here the water drops 25m to a couple of shallow pools before dropping over a 50m fall which is almost inaccessible. Working on finding a way to these large falls but they are in a ravine and haven’t succeeded yet. We’ve been in a long drought so these falls have been mostly non-existent for the last couple of years. It’s good to see them flowing so freely again. / Tv: 10secs / Av: f13 / ISO 100 / FL: 33mm

A rushing creek and a few fallen leaves taking a brief respite from thier rapid trip downriver via breeze and rushing water. The rocks offer a brief sacntuary before they are swept away into the coming winter.

Yesterdays shooting where I had to scouted this canyon and slid down in from the top and followed the water down a 1/2 mile before I could find a spot to climb out. Some nice Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream near Mt. Rainier

WHat particularly drew me to this scene were the patterns of light and shadow on the rocks and leaves. Taken on an Autumn afternoon in Jacob’s Fork River, South Mountain State Park, NC. Figuring out a way to get from one slippery and mossy rock to another in order to take the photo was a real challenge too-especially carrying tripod and camera equipment. / Nikon D50, 42mm,F22 ,2 sec / /

Well, I spotted this out on my Saturday hike from above and scouted for a way down into the capture the scene. What I found was a impenetrable blend of steep banks and thick brush covered in Poison Ivy and Devils Club. Common sense told me to let it go but in the end I slid down using my tripod as a walking stick and managed to get to waters edge with both feet and behind a bit wet. I hope it was worth it for it seemed so at the time to me. Golden leaves on a moss covered boulder in a small stream contrast nicely against rushing water

A storm had just passed over Watkins Glen and the warm sun was braking through the misty air in the glen. Watkins Glen State Park is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, at the southern end of Seneca Lake. This image was captured with a Canon EOS DSLR / Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens. The focal length was 21mm, ISO was set at 400 with an f/8 aperture and shutter speed of 1/30 sec. The bottom of the Upper Wattamolla Falls, Royal National Park. Can’t decide between the colour and the b/w. If you look very carefully you can see an angel in the middle of the falls in the coloured version but it disappears in the b/w – my daughter spotted it and I couldn’t see it for ages and then it just popped out at me. But I really like the contrast between the water and the rocks in the b/w so your feedback is most welcome Canon 30D Tv: 6 secs / Av: f/16 / ISO: 200 / FL: 62mm

A ‘burn’ is the Scottish Highland name for a stream, creek or beck. On my walk through the forest, I spotted a broken branch of Rowan, with its lovely Autumnal reds, and placed it on the ledge next to the miniature waterfall. A still – life of Nature. / The water was coloured with the peat that it picks up as it flows through the hillside. / All that was missing were the fairies ! I deliberately blurred the water, using f22 on my Canon EOS 40D, mounted securely on my tripod, fitted with a polarising filter to reduce the light still further ( it was quite low light under the canopy of trees). The shutter speed was 15 seconds ! I used my Tamron 28-300mm lens set at 135mm, iso 100, cloudy wb, RAW file Processed in PS CS3. Most of my processing is done in Adobe Camera Raw. I applied selective curves/levels adjustments, selective colour, and sharpened with Intellisharpen. The Rappahannock River is a river in eastern Virginia, in the United States, approximately 184 miles (294 kilometres) in length. It traverses the entire northern part of the state, from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the west, across the Piedmont, to Chesapeake Bay, south of the Potomac River. / An important river in American history, the Rappahannock was the site of early settlements in the Virginia Colony, and, later, it was at the center of a major theatre of battle in the American Civil War. Due to its significance as an obstacle to north-south movements, it, in effect, functioned as the war’s eastern-theatre boundary, between the “North” (the Union) and the “South” (the Confederate States of America). / The river drains an area of 2,848 square miles (7405 km²), approximately 6% of Virginia. Much of the watershed is rural and forested, but it has experienced increased development in recent decades because of the southward expansion of the Washington, D.C. suburbs. Best View Larger Feature in Live and Let Live group. Taken at Watkins Glen State Park, Watkins Glen, NY on 10/10/2009. I was with Lina Paul and Dj We where there because Dj has a week off before he goes for basic training for the Army Reserves. The park was really crowded and it was difficult to capture the waterfalls without anyone in them. I will catch up with replys and reviews later on today.
