This snowy egret was standing ramrod straight on one leg on a rocky reef on Sanibel Island. The bird was very trusting of people and let me approach very closely. What a joy to photograph this bird!

Shot in the south-west of Western Australia. I seriously love the work of Peter Dombrovski, best known for his incredible landscapes in the Tasmanian wilderness (some instrumental in preventing the damming of the Franklin River). He also did some close-up work, and here, I’ve made some attempt to convey nature the way he did. I’ve got a very long way to go!!!! This is just a tiny section of rock at Canal Rocks, but for the little seacreatures pottering in these waterholes, it’s probably like an enormous gorge.

This weekend was my first outing this year to pay the ocean a visit again after my knee problem and what a sight it was.

This photo is taken on the magnificent stone beaches of Jæren on the southwest coast of Norway. The coast here changes between rock and sand and just a few meters to the left of this location you will find the finest sand beach.

A rough day on the beach in Byron Bay does not deter the keen surfers from getting a peice of the action. Notice the rays of sunlight coming through the clouds down towards the people entering the surf.

A Good Day’s Catch was captured in South Thailand. The fishing is spectacular as well as the scenery.

Low tide on a relatively calm day at the world famous Bells Beach revealed some very beautiful reflections of the rocks and cliffs in the rock pools, on the shoreline.
