Here’s the Marble that will roll into the Center of Time and try to knock us all out. It’ll tumble toward Infinity and then stop. Just like that. Maybe we’ll be in its path and maybe we won’t. Place your bets now! / / Image rendered in Oxidizer and edited in Corel Painter Essentials 2 and Photoshop Elements 3. / /
Macro of petals of a “Christmas” cactus, edited in Picasa for Mac and Photoshop Elements 3. Shot with Canon EOS Rebel XTi. / / /
What can I say? It masquerades as other things, like self-assessment and humility; and it looks pretty with it’s bright fizzy colors and seemingly earnest energy. But it’s mean-spirited and lethal to creativity. And it’s ALWAYS out there, waiting to pounce. I had a tussle with self-doubt today, and got a good look at it!! Digital painting and editing in Photoshop Elements 3. /
Fractal rendered in Oxidizer and edited in Photoshop Elements 3. / /
Time and hopes and tears / and frantic cries and giggles / circle the Universe / and swirl in tangles to the drain. / The Universe won’t end / with a bang or a whimper. / It will end with a glug-glug-glug. Fractal rendered in Oxidizer and edited and edited and edited until it whimpered and gave this up.Edited in Photoshop Elements 3, using a bunch of flamingpear plug-ins. Filters? / /
Sweetie watching me watch him. / As is. / Canon Rebel EOS XTi / /
Crocus close up…..as soon as I saw it I heard this song, Stand Tall / Minds are funny, aren’t they? I love that song. / As is. / / /
You listen with a viciousness that takes my breath away; / You lie in wait for me to speak those things I cannot say. / My pain exists but not for you to lightly smile away; / My heart is tired of loving you but more I cannot say. / You blur my life and gulp my breath and steal my dreams away; / You squeeze my heart until I choke on words I cannot say. Me, edited quite a bit. The words are mine, too. Just letting off a little steam… / /
Looks like a peacock, but not quite. Maybe a peahen put too many highlights in her feathers? Fractal rendered in Oxidizer and edited in Corel Painter Essentials 2 and Photoshop Elements 3. / /
O! A dancing fractal! / Every once in a while I like to think about leaping and flying…ballet-style. Giselle is a lot of fun to watch. Fractal rendered in Oxidizer and edited in Photoshop Elements 3 and Corel Painter Essentials 2. / /
Inspired not only by this piece of music history but also by Daylight Saving Time (which I really really don’t like at all). Fractal rendered in Oxidizer and Edited in Corel Painter Essentials 2 and Photoshop Elements 3. / / /
A tiny crocus opened by unusual warm wind. / As is. / Canon Rebel EOS XTi / / /
God of Thunder Yes, I was a KISS fan, of sorts. I STILL LOVE to hear this one, and couldn’t resist trying to bring it to life in a fractal. I hope you like it! / Fractal rendered in Oxidizer. Edited in Corel Painter Essentials 2, Photoshop Elements 3, and GIMP. / /
“Contrary to what we know about the Earth’s core, the inner mystery of our planet will be revealed as fire...fire without air, fire without fuel, fire without end. When the Earth erupts, fractured; the flames will escape molten lava and iron and the rocks of eternity, and consume us. When, my friends? Not soon. But someday. Someday....” Haaaa….just a little scifi-ish muttering for an early morning (this is an excerpt from a novel I’m working on!!). I created the image as a fractal (Oxidizer) and then edited it in GIMP. Woooohooo!!! I can HEAR the tectonic plates smash and the flames crackle behind them!! / (I hope Yeats doesn’t mind that I borrowed the title) / /
Photoshop Elements 3. Made at the suggestion of a friend (and fellow re-gifter).
My fantasy birthday cake: I drew it in Photoshop Elements 3. / (I really really really ❤ cake!!!) /
When they play Tic Tac Toe on Blancospuma, they use fractal webbing and greenfoam. The fractal webbing sticks to their fingers and makes them giddy when they lick it off. Many Tic Tac Toe tournaments are never completed. That’s the way of things, at the White Hole. GIMP, through and through. /
Design suggested by a friend. /
Planet Specus Contemna is invisible for most of its circulation. It gradually appears to residents of nearby bodies and maintains tenuous visibility for the span of 40 rotations, after which it once again slowly disappears. Although no one has successfully landed there (because of the excessive energy wave undulation) those who have orbited describe the slowly appearing surface as watery and dark. The inversion of light to the red spectrum creates a shimmering blood-filled cave-like appearance. Early attempts to explore Specus Contemna prompted the name when a fearful but romantically-inclined solarnaut cried, “It looks like some grisly Tunnel of Love! It’s a Cavern of Hate!! Break orbit and turn back!!” Created in Photoshop Elements 3 and GIMP. / / /
LOL…this cracks me up! It looks like a stained glass window, but in the style of snakeskin…or something…and see all the little EYES in there? I LOVE it!! Created in Photoshop Elements 3. / / /
“Dulcissime, totam tibi subdo me!” / (Sweetest of men, I give myself to you wholly!) The notes swirl ripple and climb and take us up, up, up… to the pleasures of love…and then give us sweet release. / Dulcissime / (It’s only a few seconds long but AMAZING) Fractal rendered in Oxidizer. No edits. / /
A miniature sunflower bloom, edited into something entirely different. Photoshop Elements 3. / / /
My first Orton! Woooohooooo! Created for the All In, Editing, Group Challenge. / This was a wild experiment for me, since I did it at the last minute, with no plan, couldn’t right-click, and selected the wrong base image…LOL. / However the instructions were VERY clear and it worked. I’m sure there will be waaaaaaay better entries, but that’s OK. This one was a success for me. YAY!!!! Shot with Canon Rebel EOS XTi and edited in Photoshop Elements 3. / / /
