Roanoke, VA – June 2008 – Made to look like an illustration from an old magazine. Does anyone know what car this is? It has a logo, but I can’t make out the middle letter. / Suburban Scenes by Mike Savad Squidoo Lenses

I am working in Edenton, N.C. right now. I took some shots around town. Here is my interpretation of the Roanoke Lighthouse. This image was created using 6 different photographs. Below is a brief description provided by the Edenton-Chowan County Tourism Development Authority. 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse Finds New Home Nestled on the Shore of Edenton Bay / / / Edenton, NC – Wednesday, May 23, 2007, will go down in history as being the day that the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse found its new home on the shore of Edenton Bay in Colonial Park. Under the leadership of Paul Waff of Waff Contracting, Inc. and Worth Hare, Jr. of Worth H. Hare & Son House Movers, Inc. this exceptional feat was accomplished placing it where it will be restored and become an attraction for visitors and residents. This, one of the few screw-pile lights left in the world, and the only screw-pile lighthouse left in the US had marked the entrance to the Roanoke River near Plymouth on the Albemarle Sound until abandoned in 1940. It was vacant for about 15 years and then bought by Mr. Elijah Tate along with two other lighthouses but the other two were accidentally demolished in an attempt to be removed. Mr. Emmett Wiggins, a World War II Navy Engineer Captain and Underwater Salvager bought the lighthouse from Mr. Tate and performed a supposed engineering feat by recovering the lighthouse and transporting it to Edenton placing it on land at the mouth of Filbert’s Creek. Mr. Wiggins lived in the lighthouse until 1995 and it remained in his family after his death. On May 15th, the structure officially became the property of the Edenton Historical Commission and on the 23rd moved to its new home where it will become part of our Heritage Tourism efforts for many years to come. We look forward to having you enjoy this unique part of Maritime History. /

My Sony Cybershot is inconsistent. I can shoot the same shot a half a dozen times in a matter of a minute or two and get a different shot each time. Fortunately, the Irfan viewer I use to preview my shots does a great job of auto correcting the color, brightness, gamma and etc.
