Side shot of an awesome 1939 Ford streetrod at the 2006 Streetrod Nationals in Louisville, KY, USA. Shot hand-held on a very bright sunny day. Camera: 20D, Lens EF 24-70mm f2.8 L (Canon), 1/100sec, F5, ISO 100 @24mm focal length and also use a circular polarizing filter to cut down on some of the glare and add to the depth of the color and contrast. Shot in RAW then saved in jpeg with little changes in PS for levels and contrast.

This is one gorgeous car. The story goes something like this: It once belonged to the mayor of Mexico City who used it as a daily driver. When Nelson Rockefeller found the car it was in horrendous condition. Rockefeller bought it and restored it. William Harrah, in his quest for one of these fine automobiles was not in the habit of inquiring about any specific car in any collection so he made out a personal check to Mr. Rockefeller to purchase the entire Rockefeller collection. There are only five of these beauties left: Two in private collections, two in the international headquarters of Mercedes Benz, and this one at the National Automobile Museum in Reno, NV. An old 1930’s Mercedes Benz on exhibition at NGV (National Gallery of Victoria) in Melbourne. This car was a V8 had automatic transmission and went from 0 – 100kmph in only 16 seconds! haha how times change! Background desaturated in Photoshop and Gaussian Blur applied to background layer. Here’s to the inspiration of men and their toys… A sketch I photographed of a 1927 Model T, my husband Lynn was an LA Roadster member for years, as well as a car enthusiast. His pride and joy was the “Tahitian T” a rod that he built back in the 60’s, was even photographed in a Rod magazine, way back when ;) Hot Rod Fever

I believe this started life as a ‘36 Studebaker. I know, they didn’t make any convertibles, in fact, they didn’t make anything close to this. First project using Groboto , body, canopy, rims, and tires made in Strata, chassis, suspension,axels and engine made in Groboto, everything imported and assembled in Vue. You gotta check out Groboto, it’s very fractal-ly, but all hands-on, but it’s a memory hog! Next, spacecraft!!
