  • On a roadside in Scotland. I had to silently man-handle out-of-shot a friendly Scot who came up for a chat and hadn’t seen the robin.

  • This image was taken from an abandoned motel that resides along Route 30 near Irwin, PA. The rooms were all in different stages of decay and ruin. There was even a burned out green-house behind the complex. Apparently the last incarnation of the motel was as a “No Tell” motel. I found an hourly rates sign in what was left of the office (rooms could even be rented by the 1/2 hour). I chose the title because of an odd, haunted feel to this particular room. The door was flung wide open with the curtain blowing in the breeze. Almost as if someone long overdue was still expected… “I’m here and waiting for you, / Where are you I can’t find you, / I’m here and waiting for you, / I’ll wait forever for you…” “Waiting for You” – by Akira Yamaoka from the Silent Hill 4 Soundtrack.

  • Timeless winter view of beech on a Devon roadside bank. These being between Sourton and Bridestowe on the NW edge of Dartmoor.

  • Another rural Leicestershire image – at least it isnt Oilseed Rape, Wheat, Barley or Grass – I found something else instead! The location is just to the East of Barkby on the Eastern side of Leicester. The light on the oats, is mainly down to a recently finished bout of fine drizzle, and the droplets reflecting the sun breaking through.

  • Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona. Canon 20D. / Thanks for looking. Other lightning photos: / / /

  • I looked up to see this beautiful group of wildflowers growing on the hillside above my head. What a sight to behold!

  • This Red Fox, coat all colored for winter already, was hunting along the road as we drove by. What a photo op! Taken near Rennie, Manitoba. This was my third Fox encounter this summer. / / / Matted Print

  • An Impala which was roaming in our back yard at Hela Hela …. what a privilege to watch animals roaming free!!! I am truly blessed : ) Average mass for an Impala is approximately 75 kilograms. They are reddish-brown in color (hence the Afrikaans name of “Rooibok”), have lighter flanks and white underbellies with a characteristic “M” marking on its rear. Males have lyre-shaped horns which can reach up to 90 centimeters in length CanonPowershot S1 IS As Is Featured In: / You’re Accepted (February 09) / Amateur Art Phtography (February 2009) / FAUNA, FLORA, LANDSCAPES AND ARCHITECTURE OF SOUTH AFRICA (19.04.09) / ROAD PHOTOGRAPHY – your dashboard point of view! • 9/25/09 ~ Featured in A Fascinating Purple ~ Thank you!!! An untouched photo of misty roadside flowers across the road from my house. This morning the fog created the perfect setting for some wild phlox and iris. Over 50 years ago our property was a working farm and I believe a lot of the roadside flowers are remnants from the old farm. Taken 5/25/09 – Clarks Valley Road, Tower City, PA Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi w/Zoom Lens / F stop: F/8.0 Exposure: 1/100 sec. • Kelly Ann Doll, roadside, 2009.

  • Barn Owl…..... With heart shaped face, buff back and wings and pure white under parts the barn owl is a distinctive and much loved countryside bird. Widely distributed across the UK, and indeed the world, the bird has suffered declines over the past fifty years as a result of the degradation of once prey-rich habitats in the face of intensive agricultural practices. This decline, fortunately, has halted in many areas and the population may now be increasing. / Where to see them Open country, along field edges, riverbanks and roadside verges. / When to see them All year round; during the day, but best at dusk. / What they eat Mice, voles and shrews

  • Abstract Macro Photography – Urban Art Bumps, scratches, rust and decay / Small metal box thing by the road side / Armley / Leeds

  • What a great morning. Out early before work taking some images of the wind farm at Portland. As I leant against the car a Koala emerged from the bush about twenty metres from me and started to slowly walk towards me along the roadside. I sat down quietly thinking it would be scared but it walked right up, sat near my feet and allowed me to take a range of images and then slowly ambled down to the side of the car where it sat looking at its own image being reflected. After trying to paw at itself there for about ten minutes it slowly walked off back into the scrub. What an experience!!!! For anyone from overseas I must tell you this just normally doesn’t happen with Koala’s, they are shy and usually steer away from humans unless in captivity. Shot with my brand new Canon 7D that I was using for only the second time, coupled with 17 -85 lens.
