AN OLD WOODEN BOAT LIES BESIDE AN INLET AT LLANGWM, PEMBROKESHIRE WALES
This was produced with oils on a stretched canvas. It was inspired by a dream that a former girlfriend had had. I translated the account into a work in reverence of her emotional experiences. Her head is submerged in the river as if she were drowning, and her body stretches through the receding landscape. It can be universally translated as a fertile woman of the earth, and (as I said) it holds very personal and internal connotations of her struggles growing up. I enjoy the sunrise, which allows the viewer to move in through the painting of her and then back, in an infinite dialogue between heaven and earth. It was painted in 2002. The original painting was purchased by a private collector.
The water from a fountain frames the sun as it sets on the riverbank in London

Our daughter, Michaela, relaxing on the little jetty enjoying the tranquility of the atmosphere and warm tones of the late afternoon sun. /
The little jetty, trees and shoreline, just below the Charlemont homestead are all mirrored in the waters of Thompsons Creek, in the stillness of the morning, just after dawn.
As sure as the sun rises each morning, so it is with God’s Great Faithfulness to watch over, protect and provide for each of us, His children. The dawning of a perfect Autumn day as the sun creeps up through the mist that has settled over Thompson’s Creek, on the historic Charlemont sheep station. Lamentations 3:22-24 (New International Version) / New International Version (NIV) 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, / for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; / great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; / therefore I will wait for him. The words to the wonderful old hymn penned back in 1923, still stand testament today! Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; / There is no shadow of turning with Thee; / Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; / As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be. Refrain Great is Thy faithfulness! / Great is Thy faithfulness! / Morning by morning new mercies I see. / All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; / Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, / Sun, moon and stars in their courses above / Join with all nature in manifold witness / To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth / Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; / Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, / Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! This pelican, standing on the edge, in the dawn light, was deciding whether or not to jump in to the river. I was going to give him 10 seconds of “thinking music” but I didn’t have a CD player with me, so I just took his photo instead !!

Barn Owl…..... With heart shaped face, buff back and wings and pure white under parts the barn owl is a distinctive and much loved countryside bird. Widely distributed across the UK, and indeed the world, the bird has suffered declines over the past fifty years as a result of the degradation of once prey-rich habitats in the face of intensive agricultural practices. This decline, fortunately, has halted in many areas and the population may now be increasing. / Where to see them Open country, along field edges, riverbanks and roadside verges. / When to see them All year round; during the day, but best at dusk. / What they eat Mice, voles and shrews
I decided to get my daughter out on photoshoot. Took her down to the river bank and sat her up on this big rock there that has a plaque of some desciption on top of it. Thought i’d put a flower in her hands for something a little extra. When I got home and looked at the pictures a decided to try doing it in black and white with the red flower. Looks great i think! Friday, 13 March, 2009 / Below the Pont Neuf, Paris / Nikon D200 / Nikkor 55-200mm I was on the Pont Neuf enjoying the sights of Paris and saw this lady with the bright red coat walking along the Seine riverbank. Spring has not shown itself in Paris yet, so everything seems to be a washed-out grey/brown colour. Her coat really captured my eye, adding such a contrast to the scene. Other than resizing and minor sharpness issues, no colour adjustments have been made. Paris is the capital of France.
another infrared image from the vaults that has been gently coloured to give it the emotional tone it needs. I shot this image and the ones that follow in the days after my father died. They were all taken while I wandered along the river Torrens in Adelaide near where he lived. This particular stretch of the river is particularly beautiful and was a place he loved to go walking with his cameras. So then this image is about memory and loss and also about redemption through beauty. / . /
another IR image from a few years back. This image was taken a while I strolled along the river Torrens in Adelaide a few days after my father died. It’s a very beautiful extended walkway that extends for some kilometres and backed on to where my father used to live. He would walk here with his thoughts and his cameras and produced some lovely work and this image is by way of a homage to him… to thank him for the gift of life and the great gift of sight he bequeathed me… and it was his great love of photography that gives me courage to take this medium on and make it the central focus of my life as an artist. / . /
Heavy fog around my area yesterday and this was about the only shot I could get, under the Fyansford Bridge! Weak sunlight just managed to struggle through to add a golden glow. Couldn’t see much else through the dense mist. / Added texture layers. / Nikon D300 with 18 – 200 mm lens.

Notre Dame, Paris, captial city of France. The last in my Notre Dame series. I created six versions of this shot, trying different textures, colours and layers, but this was the first one that moved toward a theme or emotion that I wanted. It feels quite lonely and stripped of hope to me, but I’m sure it will have varied meaning to the individual. 8 layers of texture from www.deviantart.com free use stock – Amurrr. Lightened each layer, adjusted hue and colour levels, blended each with 3 layers of the photo, one b&w, one colour and one desaturated. Flattened image and further colour tweaking and adjusting.
