This is another image from the series of infrared shots that I took from the banks of the local river today.. However instead of focusing on the water, I decided to turn around and shoot the hill behind me as I knew that the tree in the centre would turn out bright white compared to the rest of the trees and I knew the grass would turn out well.. / Hope you like it!

Captured along the Mount Evans Wilderness in Colorado, this is one of those waterfalls that kind of sneaks up on ya outta the blue, and if you blink, you actually miss it. I really don’t much in the way of long exposure shots, but after being happy with how this one came out, I am going to start doing them more. Hope ya all like it! Ya, thought the title pretty much summed it up! Captured a couple night ago as the sun was sinking low out at Reunion Lake on the eastern plains of Colorado. The colors were just stunning, I was pretty awe struck, it yielded quite a few really nice shots! Let me know what ya think! / —-John

This is an oil painting I did the day of my wedding. It was a class I was taking and the instructor knew I was getting married that afternoon. So he had the class paint as fast as they could, he said it will come out better then spending a lot of time on it. Well, he was right! All the paintings in the class turned out so beautiful and it took us 2 hours and I was off at noon to get ready for my wedding. This was the happiest day of my life! We were married in the little church in the Garden of the Gods. The most beautiful place on the earth. When I brought my painting home my husband was amazed and loved the picture. To this day we cherish this picture the most. It was in July and the flowers were blooming and there in the back drop was Pikes Peak covered with snow. A day of beauty, with love in our hearts, no wonder this painting turned out so good. This original picture is not available for sale. You can also visit my website: www.RedfishArtwork.com

A Tranquil Evening The world seemed to almost totally stop when I took this, it was a hot evening, I was sweating just about to die, but for a moment, life seemed suspended, all the hustle and bustle disappeared, and the sky went fantastic, as if the Lord above painted something which had never been seen before. For an instant, tranquility, for an instant, serenity, for an instant, the light was to die for. Look closely, take it all in, and you may notice the distant red traffic lights. The building on the left is the old boat house at Washington Park where this was shot at, built around the turn on the century 1900. These days it serves as a place for concerts for classical music, Scottish Bagpipes, and similar sorts of sounds. Examine it close and just take a deep breath. Just Past Summer It was a time you let go / And caught the wind / Absent a rudder to slice your way through / Just Past Summer, / You let go of wondering how to Love, / You did. / Colors / Blended into one voice / Truth / Beating swiftly / Like cream does to butter. / Just Past Summer, / A fire as big as a sunset / Was started, / Using all the dried up dreams / And the gutter remains. / Rich you said, / Smell the smoke, / Sacred release. / The ashes you spread out like a table / Serving doubt and loneliness / Featuring a cold vichyssoise that had / A hint of Hope. / This hint you said, / Will complement the rest, / Fear not. / Dessert was three layers of / Rich longing, / Covered with a double dark / Butter cream of Love. / Always Love / You said… / Then off you went, / To catch the boat with no rudder, / On a warm Chinook breeze / That took you to Just Past Summer.

Original, Hand Painted / Oil-on-canvas / 24 X 20 inches Thank you Robin Monroe for this loving gift; “Since this poem was written just for you in another time once upon a dream:) If you would like you can use it with one of your brilliant work of art since they are so full of Life, Love and Joy I think this section of the poem would go wonderful with one of your pieces. Let your love flow like the river… / Let it run wild and free…. / A promise that you can deliver… / Dreams are for you / Dreams are for me / Dreams can come true – Believe! Also, it would bring me joy and be such an honor to have my words associated with your beautiful Art….Robin:)” The Brent River…. While traveling, one can come across several intriguing places by chance… Sometimes you are not prepared enough or even carrying a camera to capture an image of the place that captivates you…but it leaves a deep impression in one’s memory which you can recollect…and I painted that memory…to the best I could recollect of that moment…this was one of those chance visits to the riverside in Greenford, England during one of my several walks…

This shot reminds me of the lazy, hazy days of summer back when I used to go swimming in the old creek as a kid. Taken in June of 2007 in beautiful State of Virginia!

My dog River posing for a portrait in the snow. She has ALWAYS liked her picture being taken since she barely opened her eyes at two weeks of age. Her litter mates ran around when the camera aimed at them but she stood in attention every time a photo opportunity showed up! :) I’m sure she’d be glad that I donate the proceed of the sale of her photos to Nature Canada as she loves woods and her deer friends as much as I do! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

My first thoughts as I left the house this morning at 5am was ‘Bastard Bollocks its Bastard well snowed! Its going to be bastard cold and there will be no bastard sunrise because it’s too bastard cloudy….bastard!’. I would not have thought in a million years that it would be bright enough for the IR filter. This is my first effort this summer….and I use the word summer loosely…....after waking up to snow…..but I like it…..the green is getting back to the right sort of green and the light is getting stronger!
