  • My most popular work to date…. This photograph was taken on a gorgeous evening following a pacific storm that rolled through the northwest. The Columbia River, where this was taken, spans out almost five miles at the mouth. During low tide, mudflats expose and reflect the colors of the sunset for gorgeous photographs. This evening was exceptional with the fast moving thunderclouds passing by, lighting up the sky. Post-processing include HDR, and some dodging to even out the balance of the photo. / I hope you like it!

  • Taken this afternoon with my new Sony alpha 350 dslr As yet I don’t have a polarising or neutral density filter and either, or both, is a must. The Indian Ocean rolls in at Guilderton, some 90+ kms north of Perth, Western Australia. The sky was added from my files as in reality it was a brilliant shade of blue with not a cloud to be seen, with the result there wasn’t a heck of a lot of colour contrast in the shot...

  • This is the epitome of a Trawler returning to port, with the seagulls following. A common sight now, but for how much longer? / The trawler Natalie, about to enter the Looe River, Looe, Cornwall, to offload her catch, tie up and clean up, ready to return to sea the next day. Hope you like it. / Thanks for looking.

  • another year to start again / another lonely wish as time is bleeding away / you’re growing small in yourself / you come to know the motion of sinking so well / the tide will rise over your head / forgo the breath, you learn what keeps you down / now you’re breathing under there / you drift away from all your blinding fear oh oh you opened your eyes / oh oh you came into sight / no more burning hands / you buried doubt away you walk around beneath clouds / and count the days that should have been spent / the chilling air it whispers / it resonates in memories you swept aside / I want to wear that feeling now / when you’re close it echo’s throughout my soul / proliferate what’s left wanting / and self demise will drown inside past times oh oh you opened your eyes / oh oh you came into sight / no more burning hands / you buried doubt away -me / /

  • take your truth and bury it so it grows tomorrow / there’s a space thats filling with words like i miss you / now I continue to fall and rise but with passion and pain / and your dragging the pity into the distant sun to return oh and you returned somehow I’m just watching you change direction / and all those words are so infectious / you’re just losing those weights / they try to disguise what they really are there’s a thought that conspires with your past / but you don’t wallow in empty rooms these days / and you’re not confused by the presence of pure words / holding on became an empire of unsent letters oh you returned somehow I’m just watching you change direction / and all those words are so infectious / you’re just losing those weights / they try to disguise what they really are -me shot taken Derwent River, Hobart /

  • Buncrana, County Donegal, Ireland. The River Crana enters the Atlantic Ocean at Lough Swilly. Winter 2008 Fujifilm Finepix S9600, post processed in Dynamic-Photo HDR and PhotoImpact. Orton Effect.

  • one look inside your truth and the words took me / i could stand inside your light forever / now the way the days walk free and liberated dreams / like there wasn’t any other point of view / you’re back and forth with thoughts and decide / that it doesn’t really matter what you think come down just to be here a little while / we’ll drink some whiskey and read our minds / I saw you wave goodbye as the rain washed over you / as the night trickled into the day, you washed away keep tracing outside the lines of what’s perfect to you / then draw yourself in and don’t leave me behind / when standing in spaces that the world couldn’t know / you felt right at home when your standing alone come down just to be here a little while / we’ll drink some whiskey and read our minds / I saw you wave goodbye as the rain washed over you / as the night trickled into the day, you washed away -me

  • This painting is watercolour on stretched Saunders cold pressed medium, 600gsm paper. / The paint is all transparent Windsor and Newton watercolour. / I have used Windsor and Newton Masking fluid for the ripples. This is a new activity for me, a sort of “off shoot” from the boats and water, I thought I would have a go at just water this time. Thank you all so very much for all the kind comments, faves and watches. I really appreciate these.
