Beautifull April evening light slants across the ridge of the Malvern Hills, Worcestershire, England. Reported to be the insiration for Tolkien’s Misty Mountains in Lord of The Rings.
The Beautifull Malvern Hills in the heart of England. Seen here looking North from British camp, an ancient Iron Age Hill fort , and reputed to be the inspiration for Tolkien’s Weather Top where Frodo is stabbed by the Nasgul’s blade. Taken late in May, just before sunset. The Victorian town of Great Malvern is nestled into the highest of the hills, and is famous for its natural mineral water springs and wells which run freely from the hillside. The Queen even drinks Malvern Water…...could Malvern have been Tolkien’s Rivendell?
This was in around Kaitoke in New Zealands North Island. / We turned onto a dirt road east of Paraparaumu, and kept on travelling, until we could go no further, as there was a landslide and the road gave way. / What you see, was what was before us. / This was part of the location for Rivendell in the movie “Lord of the Rings”. / Just one of the many locations we visited, on a return trip to the Land of the Big White Cloud. =============================

This place is on Wildwood Road Yallingup. Stopped here for lunch. Has been around for awhile and did suffer a little neglect for awhile. I think there is a change of owners whether recent I am not sure. But the gardens are once again looking better. Still some work to go to get back to original. Was a superb place to stop though and wander through the rooms of all the garden. And the lamb pie seriously was one of the best meals ever.
