`Ale stenar` in Kåseberga, Scania, Sweden. / These stones are part of a stone ship, that has functioned as a `sun dial´ / and made it possible to know exactly what time of the year it was, and when / to celebrate important solar events. The smaller stone in front of the stem stone is probably representing the protruding keel of a Bronze Age ship. / It´s interesting that our present churches are divided into three or more `ships´, / at least in my language. This has been a very sacred place once! /

Upon the importance of a “rite” (tea, as the japaneese ceremony),in the life of the Artist! / Some Artists, had a rite before they spend themselves into creating! / Some had a rite after they had finished their piece of work! / Some as they are actually creating! / It can be Music or something else, which helps them into the process of releasing what their guts need to release ! / Tea can bring a certain peace to the “creator,” as it might help to canalize the energy needed to achieve THE ULTIMATE PIECE! / Many have used alcohol, or drugs! / Some have created, animated by the Love of GOD or led by what they call a “third entity” ! / And I believe that for most Artistson top of all these reasons above named,, heartaches, difficulties, trials, challenges of life’s journey are what causes the ARTIST TO CREATE OUT OF HIS GUTS! / To ” vomit” what the body, the soul, the mind and the spirit have accumulated from years of labour! The hymnody of the Lutheran Reformation is a great treasure. What makes these hymns so special is that they are sermons. / Hymns were not born with The German Reformation, they have a long history in the church, but in no other period of history have they been so intensively cultivated. We are fast approaching a most Magickal time of the cycle, the day of the Winter Solstice. This is an appropriate time to observe ‘Rites of Passage’ through ritual and prayer. This year, 2007, is even more powerful for the rituals, since the Full Moon will occur on December 24th, at 1:16 AM, which is within the three days of observance. Blessings to you, the viewer and reader, at this most auspicious time of the year. Happy Yule! “Last Rites” came to me while trying to capture the ghostlike memory of a carefree childhood and as the image grew I managed to pinpoint the exact time of death of my own innocence. The dead dove in the corner that I called hope later came to life in the albumartwork for the band Eskju Divine.

The chalice and dagger are ancient symbols for man and woman. The chalice symbolizes the womb, while the dagger, or athame (the Wiccan ritual dagger) as it is sometimes called, symbolizes the phallus. The joining of the two is a fertility ritual called The Great Rite.
-
The Great Rite. As the Athame is to the Male, and the Chalice to the Female and together they create life and bring blessings; and when they are joined, they become one, and there is no greater magick in the entire world than that of Love.
