  • well if u want ‘real’ adventure, the sort of where you feel like screaming than you should go in May to Ladakh and when the “Pass’ just opens for traffic, NOT for tourist busses yet, just for convoys like these, well then you should join..I wanted to avoid the tourists as much as possible and really get into Ladakh before all the hordes of tourists jump on the bus, we managed to get an a ‘local’ bus which took us ‘a day’ 24 hrs to go over the Kardung La, it was like a ‘little’ nightmare, we had the 2 kids with us and where totally cramped like sardines in this bus, including anything you can imagine from cartons, bags tins bags goats and chickens, there was no room to move and i was scared cause there where metal bars in front of the windows..if something happens i can’t junp out of the window….On the Kardunk La theres only 3 times a week traffic which comes in and the same for going out, thats it, only space for 1 truck (just!) on that pass, the snow was just beginning to melt and oh my goodness what a traffic going and convoys and convoys of trucks fully loaded with anything you can imagine than also the military convoys where soooo long we had to wait hours and hours in the frreezing cold bus..when it was our turn to go over the pass it was ligthly snowing, ehhh i thought very hard to see anything, cause evything is white!!! i could see trucks down the hills, many many oildrums, militairy trucks…..that means they slipped of that track!!!goosebumps and silence, on the top of the bus, i mean we only drove 10 km max!! i could feel the back of the bus slightly slipping, turning..I screamed stop STOP THE BUS, which the driver instantly did!! i managed to crawl with 2 kids in my hands over all that stuff, AND the people and was in seconds at the door, the driver he opened it and EVERYBODY !! went out, we where all so afraid, the busdriver said you good mama!! and he told us to make a chain..to hold eachothers hands and to walk slowly over the Pass. so we did and walked all together over this pass, a human chain.. several man including my husband pushed the bus straight on the track and pushed it for maybe 100 mtr…. than we all had a good laugh…i NEVER forget this adventure!!!. • Ok, so I’m not a huge fan of posting images of people crashing, question of respect and mostly when they are injured but in this case, only the ego got crushed as this “DUDE” was bragging to his bodies how to do this trick…. ya seems like he’s got to go back to the drawing board if you ask me. The important lesson learned, don’t brag, learn, try, have fun and mostly be safe and just like this guy, wear a helmet if you ride in the park and want to jump just in case in land on something else then your board or skis.
