An alpine lake reflecting first light kissing the peak of Mt. Rainier on a cold summer morning as the mist rises off the lake.

A funny thing happened on the way to Mt. Rainier well before sunrise. I noticed the morning mist rising over Clear Lake and the cirrus clouds fanning out above them and decided that a glorious sunrise on the lake was worth more than a maybe on the mountain. I fumbled my way in the dark via flashlight to the lakes edge and had time to search for composition before the heavens lit up. Not a bad way to start a day at all.

At the time i couldnt believe it actually worked! have just been waiting for the right project to use it (oh that and for me to develop the skills to do something with it) christopher xx

DJ Conway The Phoenix is the most famous of all rebirth symbols, a legendary bird that endlessly renews itself in fire. / Initially a symbol of the cyclic disappearance and reappearance of the Sun, the Phoenix soon became an emblem of human resurrection – and eventually of the indomitable human spirit in overcoming trials. My deepest hopes, since the onsets of Black Saturday and the devastation and sorrow felt across the lands of Australia, as well as here on redbubble with the outpourings of love, compassion and strength in thoughts and prayers is that it reaches and touches all who have lost someone, something or some part of their heart to this great fire – find the inner strength and wisdom, and most certainly feel the generosity and outpouring from so many human beings around the globe. / The empathy and compassion felt around the world is ironically, a gathering of souls in Unity – it saddens me that it takes a tragedy of this proportion to focus, it also fills me with joy that it is still possible… May we continue in the light of love and unify for the benefit of all humankind – as Love can move mountains All sales of this piece will be donated to Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009 / This was an intention drawing while focusing on the victims of the Victorian Bushfires, photographed, colored in photoshop and Redfield plug-ins editing.
