  • So this one here is quite a colorful and busy piece! Lots of lines, lots of colors, splatters, gradients, etc. It’s meant to be kind of busy like that. Not much else to say about it, really. Did it up to make a cool and colorful design that would cover a large chunk of the shirt. So I hope you all like it!

  • 1 week smoke free… Whoot.. :D From Wikipedia / A phoenix is a mythical bird with a tail of beautiful gold and red plumage. It has a 500 to 1,000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of myrrh twigs that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. The new phoenix is destined to live as long as its old self. In some stories, the new phoenix embalms the ashes of its old self in an egg made of myrrh and deposits it in the Egyptian city of Heliopolis (sun city in Greek). The bird was also said to regenerate when hurt or wounded by a foe, thus being almost immortal and invincible — it is also said that it can heal a person with a tear from its eyes and make them temporarily immune to death. The phoenix is a symbol of fire and divinity. So I’m guessing you can see my aim for this design. This is is basically how I feel in regards to not smoking.. As hard as it is ATM to not light up (LOL) I will win and allow my body to recover from the damage I’ve done to it over the many years of unintentionally destroying it. :)

  • A folding fan coming out of a gun. / This idea came about when i was thinking of those pop guns clowns often have. I have wanted to do a design that involved the Japanese folding fans for quite some time. The juxtaposition of two so very different items that are both hand held makes for an interesting design.

  • I’ve been working on new bears featuring laser bears, mainly because I think a bear that shoots laser beams out of its eyes is pretty cool! / I designed this all myself and felt this should look really good as a tee. / Detail: /

  • First in a series of shirts dedicated to people in history we should have listened harder to. Edward R Murrow was a revolutionary, a gentleman, a fighter and a fine dresser. He saw the horrors we faced through misuse of televised media more vividly than most. If the visual treats of the box were upsetting him in the ‘50s then he’d be completely shattered today…. It’s a halftone graphic based on an image of him smoking a cigarette in a dandy suit, but made from the contents of a smashed television I photographed after throwing it off a silo in Collingwood. With some words and circles and fluff and jazz. Really does look better 8 feet tall. / “Just once in a while, let us exalt the importance of ideas and information. Let us dream to the extent of saying that on a given Sunday night the time normally occupied by Ed Sullivan is given over to a clinical survey on the state of American education. And a week or two later, the time normally used by Steve Allen is devoted to a thorough-going study of American policy in the Middle East. Would the corporate image of their respective sponsors be damaged? Would the shareholders rise up in their wrath and complain? Would anything happen other than a few million people would have received a little illumination on subjects that may well determine the future of this country and therefore the future of the corporations? To those who say, “People wouldn’t look, they wouldn’t be interested they’re too complacent, indifferent and insulated” I can only reply: There is, in one reporter’s opinion considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach. It can illuminate and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it. towards those ends. Otherwise, it is merely wires and lights, in a box. Good night, and good luck.” Edward R Murrow
