This could be a fun thing. If interested I will go to your site and choose a couple, let you know and you would send me the image.

Being the freeware junkie that I am, I’ve collected some good programs and some absolute rubbish. Saccara definitely belongs in the first category. / It’s a synthesiser program that can produce very relaxing sounds. Its designers intended it to be used to create modern ambient masterpieces, I daresay, but I find its sounds very relaxing when I’m at the computer. With Saccara in the background, the right fractal, and the right drink, you could probably solve all the mysteries of the universe. The download link is at the bottom of the page. Standard Disclaimer: it works without any trouble for me on mine, but I make no guarantees for the same if you install it on yours. / ALSO!! The sound begins as soon as you open the program. You should adjust all your volume controls down beforehand, until you get an idea the best setting.

Hi All, / / You have an opportunity to help out someone you may never meet. / / Everyone’s lives are touched by suicide at some stage, be it a friend, someone you knew or went to school with or god forbid in your own family. / / The band Seether have had this sadness enter their lives. But rather than fall helpless, they have made a choice to take a positive step to help others and launched a site where by a donation to Kids Help Phone will be made by their record company for each time their video for the song “Rise Above This” is viewed. This song has been dedicated to Eugene Welgemoed, who took his own life in August last year. Eugene will always remain in our hearts and I ask that you please help other kids from making the wrong choice. / / Please watch the clip and then fill in the form. You will receive an immediate confirmation that a donation has been made by Wind-Up Entertainment on your behalf. Click here to go to the page / / I’m usually the first person to ignore forwarded messages, but please, forward this to everyone in your contact list and give kids a chance to speak, be heard and receive the support they need to get through the obstacles the world throws at them. / / Big Love to all, / / xxx najeroux R.I.P Eugene Welgemoed 1981 – 2007 /

I wish I had the luxury to think that religious nut cases are not any real threat to the US. With the rise of Sarah Palin to such a prominent place within the Republican party, I can’t afford to be so blind any longer. The religious right and their desire to be with Jesus above all else is a threat to all life on the planet. I have heard too many people talking about all the signs in their bible pointing to this as being the “End Times”, including some I used to think were rational. The one thing I am sure about, according to their own bibles, only “God” will know when the end is to occur. Until he decides, we are to live our lives treating all with compassion. How dare you wage wars in his name or even try to claim he is on our side when war is the ultimate in inhumane acts. Compassion is not being shown to human beings being shot, bombed, or sliced up. It does not matter if they have the same god as you, your god has forbidden you to cause harm to other human beings. As I read over the bible, I see no loophole within the commandment “Thou shalt not kill!” The majority of the religious sheep, never really read the bible, they let the church elders do that for them and figure that is good enough. Their more learned leaders control the flock to such an extent that most will kill for the purity of their religion. That said, when a flock is told by a charismatic lunatic that he has interpreted the bible, and the “End Times” are near, most of them will not question the interpretation. That Sarah Palin is a member of such a sect, and has been nominated for a position that would put her a heartbeat away from actually having the Nuclear Codes that would make it possible for creating the “End Times” is extremely frightening. It would be bad enough when a known hot head like McCain has the launch codes, but he at least is not actively seeking to be with Jesus any time soon (as far as we can tell). Vote Obama!

Well here I am just doing my job as co-host (which incidentally I am loving) and realised that there was a new photo in my group features list (which is the only way I can navigate to the group – I am sure there another way!?) and there it was my new photo featured in Dawn and Dusk Light! Jump poor Rob nearly lost his place on the chair! Even more surprised when I realised it was yesterday – so wow I am tremendously happy, the photo was a complete surprise when I uploaded it I wasn’t expecting to see the sun actually in the drop! SO a big Thank you to the lovely people in Dawn and Dusk light for making the sun shine for me this evening :)) And what a lovely way to start the weekend with a lovely warm glow all inside! Even more incentive for the sun to shine after the rain – mind you at this rate it could soon be snow :0

The Loss of Civility: I want to start by saying that I love America, it, for the most part, is the Land of the Free and a country with many oppurtunities but in my lifetime it has been on a downward spiral. When I was a kid growing up when people held a door open for you you said thank you, when you were in line at a store having a conversation with a friend you stopped talking long enough to pay for your purchase and thank the clerk. Now, people barely hold the door open for the person behind them and can’t be bothered to get off their fucking cell phones long enough to interact with someone who is waiting on them in a store or cafe`, not to mention the private conversations they are exposing strangers to. It sucks that little Jimmy failed his math test but maybe if you hung up your phone, or pulled that Star Trek looking thing out of your ear, and paid some attention to your kid he would have passed his math test. Have we become such a self absorbed society that the only thing that matters to us is ourselves? The Rise of Hypocrisy: There are so many hypocrites now that I can’t even make a trip to Walmart without getting annoyed. Here is a store that refuses to sell CDs that bare a parental advisory sticker but sell a TV show on DVD like Weeds. Don’t get me wrong I love the show, it’s wildley entertaining, but a single mom who sells weed to make ends meet that has an underage son sleeping with an older woman and another son caught masturbating to naked pictures of her is alot worse then the latest Motley Crue record with a couple of F-bombs on it. If they can card underage kids for cigarettes, which actually kill people, or for an R rated movie, why can’t they card kids for parental advisory labled music? It’s just hypocritical bull shit fueled by racism, lets face it Walmart just didn’t want to sell rap music because they were scared Black people would come in and steal their merchandise. Like hillbillies don’t steal.

A SUMMARY OF MY heART THIS WEEK: it was a very productive week for me… and i just have to admit that there’s nothing i’d rather be doing…. it’s a spiritual high for me to be completely in the moment, putting my heart and soul into something i love… and so, first off, i started my week giving gratitude for the heart of an artist here which often goes unrecognized, so i’m taking this moment to just give some love to all my photographer/artistic friends – who understand how awesome it is to see life through an artists’ eyes, who appreciate the heart and soul of the moment and who in the process seem to slow down time by appreciating the little things. ENVISIONING FANTASIES, MAKING POETRY – and letting go: thank you to the Sensual Word for featuring one of my poetic entries titled When I Envision My Fantasies for me, my writing is the most sensitive of gifts, but i was encouraged as of late to realize that gifts of the spirit should be shared... and started opening up that part of me just last year, although i’d been writing since i could hold a pencil… i wrote and drew so much, that i had a callouse on my finger by the time i was eight!! but kept most of it to myself. i’ve also taken classes since then and have worked on letting go of that worlds worse critic voice (the muse that many of us share) and just let it flow… DREAMING OF THE THEATRE: truly a beautiful thing many of you know that my first love was with the theatre- where so many artistic mediums are expressed and in a way that it is as larges as life… / it was my first goal, at age 5, that i committed in my heart, that i wanted to write like Shakespeare and someday produce my work for the theatre… again, the excitement being that it could encorporate so many artistic visions: dancing, choreography, music, costumes, lighting, set design… / still thrills me to this day… so i’m thrilled to announce that “applause studios” and i are negotiating a full time photographer contract and they have approached me for using my images in their website and promotional material… i am truly pleased with this. not only will i be closer to being immersed in the things that inspire me most creatively, but i will be spending time with a great group of teachers and students as passionate about the arts as i am. that’s truly a beautiful thing. so without further adieu; / thank you to anything theatrical for featuring both images i submitted from applause studios last recital at the edmonds center for the arts! portrait of a teacher and portrait of a student HOW ABOUT DAD’S AND GRADS? thank you for the love from art of glass for featuring my rising star just may be the perfect sentiment for the dads and grads in our life… just a thought continue to be FILLED WITH INSPIRATION: featured in reflection in building windows *is an untitled image longing for inspired prose… (a little nudging here, that is an invitation for you writers) hint hint FOLLOWING MY HEART it’s a walk of faith: thank you to images and ideas and the art of intrigue for recognizing this piece walk of faith which is truly reflective of where i am at the moment REACHING FOR THE LIGHT thank you to feature fraternity and also one of my most favored groups, due to the fact i think the element of boca in an image is most intriguing depth of field for featuring my image reaching for the light so that’s where i leave you, hopefully reaching for your own light, following your heart, listening to that call towards your dreams in a walk of faith... and the best thing about this week? collaborating with JD martin who agreed to let me use his words to his song One Heart in a book collaboration with my group at show me a sign—... it’s truly been a blessed week to be a part of so much energy and passion!! blessings and inspirations my friends, / ♥tonja

Some of you know that in addition to being an artist I am also involved in music. Specifically, I have a band called The Red Masque. I am in the midst of organizing a festival with my own band as well as some additional great original acts and I figured I would plug it here in case anybody should find themselves in the Philadelphia, PA area on October 24. —-—-—— OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE / Festival Website and Info: http://theredmasque.com/fest/index.html Please visit this website to download press photos etc or contact Lynnette Shelley (lynnette@theredmasque.com) with any press inquiries. # THE PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT: NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL / Featuring Cheer-Accident, The Red Masque, Make A Rising and Fern Knight October 24, 2009 Venue: / The Rotunda / University of Pennsylvania, 4014 Walnut Street / Philadelphia, PA 19104 / 215-573-3234. / http://www.therotunda.org Additional Info: / 7 PM. All Ages. / FREE but donations for the bands requested / (Pay-What-You-Want Admission). Hosted by The Red Masque Contact: / Lynnette Shelley (lynnette@theredmasque.com) The Line-Up HEADLINERS / CHEER-ACCIDENT (Chicago) / Official Website: http://www.cheer-accident.com/ For over 20 years, Cheer-Accident have been a creative, interesting force in rock music. They constantly strive to surprise their audience and themselves with constant reinvention. Fear Draws Misfortune (released January 2009 through Cuneiform Records) is their 16th release and arguably their best release and their album which strives the furthest towards a powerful balance between personalized and unique studio techniques and the excitement of a visceral, live, well-honed rock band. Which is saying something. It is a strongly compelling and high-reaching album that uses a wide variety of ideas, styles and studio techniques, resulting in a cohesive and ambitious album of art-rock. The basic band is a trio who between them perform on vocals, keyboards, trumpets guitars, bass and drums, but they are augmented by 15 additional musicians who, each in their own way, bring their own musical gifts to the album. Fear Draws Misfortune reveals a fortuitous intersection between Cuneiform and Cheer-Accident, both of whom have long admired the other and both of whom finally decided to do something about it! This long overdue marriage, which neatly coincides with a timely (and quite lengthy) cover-feature article in December 2008’s Signal To Noise magazine, promises to hurl Cheer-Accident into wider recognition. “I could easily fill a page talking about any given minute of this album, but suffice it to say that if you’ve ever loved Magma’s apocalypticisms, Neu!’s ghosts in the machine, or Beefheart’s Dada boogie—or at least dreamed of watching the Mormon Tabernacle Choir fall down a very long flight of stairs—it might be for you.” — Monica Kendrick/Chicago Reader ”...[Cheer-Accident] meld difficult, angular rock with absurdist lunacy in intentionally disturbing ways that are just brilliant.” – Alternative Press “There are few ensembles that can make noise sound both as mysterious and as strangely inviting as Cheer-Accident.” – Delusions of Adequacy —-—— THE RED MASQUE (Philadelphia) / Official Website: http://www.theredmasque.com Founded in 2001, The Red Masque is an original avant rock band from the Philadelphia area. Part art, part alchemy, the group’s experimental songwriting style is both angular and eerie, accented by freeform space rock improvisations, intricate acoustics, dark atmospherics and chunky riffs. Unconventional and eccentric in musical form, the sophisticatedly sinister The Red Masque fuses together such disparate musical references as horror movie soundtracks, rock-in-opposition, progressive rock, experimental, zeuhl, heavy rock, gothic, psychedelia, space rock, and kraut rock. The Red Masque’s compositions are as intense as they are unique. The band is currently signed with RER USA and released their third studio album, “Fossil Eyes” in August 2008. The Red Masque’s live download-only album, “Stars Fall On Me” is scheduled for release in November 2009. “From Pennsylvania hails a quartet without limitations to their purposes and without shame regarding norms and dogma within new rock.” – Tarkus Magazine “In the Nu-progressive rock underground, few bands are as respected and feared as Philadelphia’s The Red Masque. Without irony or kitsch, the whirlwind that is Masque … stalks the darkness of Hammer Horror ambience and cursedly complex musicianship (think Gong meets Bauhaus) with only feedbacking noise, sound-collage clustering and the howl of vocalist Lynnette Shelley to light its way.” – A.D. Amorosi, Philadelphia City Paper —-—- / MAKE A RISING (Philadelphia) / MySpace Page: http://www.myspace.com/makearising Tunneling its way out of the West Philadelphia nether worlds Make A Rising is a band that is beyond unique. The quintet’s debut record is a swirling mix of violin, keyboard, guitars, drums, saxophone, trumpet, bells, whistles, and assorted noisemakers – all swelling together for subversively addictive pop gems. With orchestral crescendos combined with off-kilter vocals and fast-changing tempos Make A Rising is the sound of chaos, bliss, bravado, nerves and naivety – avant chamber rock at its most dynamic – like Daniel Johnston singing Beach Boys songs interpreted by Naked City. —-—-— FERN KNIGHT (Washington D.C.) / Official Website: http://fernknight.com/ Under cellist Margaret Ayre’s orchestration, D.C./Philadelphia quartet Fern Knight transfigures her acoustic Medieval-tinged songs with contrasting layers of 60s improv, 70s prog rock and NWOBHM – retelling the band’s collective history. Juxtapositions of the arcane and modern in her music and life drew Margaret to pen the band’s fourth album (vhf), Castings, a song cycle exploring how the ancient divinatory art of the Tarot and the well-worn archetypes contained therein continue to flow through present day society. The core quartet is rounded out by Jesse Sparhawk (harp/electric bass), Jim Ayre (Flying V/drums) and James Wolf, published Sun Ra scholar (violin). Margaret also co-scored a new soundtrack to 1970 Czech new wave film ‘Valerie and Her Week of Wonders’ for a ten-piece ensemble that included Jesse and Jim called The Valerie Project (Drag City).
