Part of my fish series, this is about meeting a lot of people but there is only one right one for us all, it comes from the saying, “There is a lot of fish in the sea”.
Ripe and juicy strawberries on mirror.
Well, it is that time of year again, when the pumpkins are ripe and out in the fields. The corn stalks are turning brown and for us the leaves are just starting to turn colors. Welcome to autumn.
Orange Lilly. No treatment.
One of my favorite fruits
Grape vines at Ceres, Melbourne 2007. The sunlight shining through the vines gave the the fruit an iridescent glow.
A triptych created from my series “Textures of Autumn”. Black backing colour recommended for the card version. Also available as individual images: Textures of Autumn I / Textures of Autumn II / Textures of Autumn III Textures by Bea Pierce .
........ready.
With the arrival of summer comes fresh fruit, sweet and juicy and filled with wholesome goodness. I made a trip to a produce market and had to photograph the goods before cutting them up into fruit salad. This collage is a celebration of the abundance of the season.
The birds won’t eat these berries yet, and I have seen them turn a great shade of dark purple. I wouldn’t ever eat these, I have seen the dark purple bird droppings as a result, and I wouldn’t want to find out what they would do to me!! I’m not sure what type of berry it is, so I would never eat it anyway! Thanks for viewing my work!!! If you like what you see here, have a peek at the rest of my work. Ah the fabled cherry—the poetic color of luscious lips, and just as sweet. It started out in West Asia (perhaps the Persia-Armenia region) and in two varietals from which all cultivated cherries are descended: Prunus avium (sweet) and Prunus cerasus (sour). Sweet cherries had spread to Ancient Greece and the Mediterranean by 300 BCE, for Theophrastus mentions them. And Pliny the Elder (1st century AD) mentions that some 8 varieties of cherries were being cultivated in Italy—and that the Romans were spreading them as far north as Britain. The British, in turn, carried it to the New World in the 17th century (Beyond the huge crops in Michigan, California, Oregon, and Washington, American wild cherries include the chokecherry, the pin cherry, and the wild black cherry. Sour cherries have spread even farther north, and are a speciality of Germany and Scandanavia. Today it is estimated that some 900 sweet varieties (ranging in color from yellow to black) and some 300 sour varieties are being grown. Most sweet cherries will produce fruit only after they’ve been cross-pollinated—honey bees usually do the leg work, carrying pollen from a sweet cherry of another variety soupsong.com See some samples of the collection below, and view the entire collection to date, at the Bubblesite HERE / Plum Blossom with Apples and Cream / / Sour Cream Bumbleberry Tart with an Apricot Glaze / / Ginger Shortcake with Nectarines and Creme Fraiche / / Spicy Chewy Ginger Cookies / / Chocolate Cupcake with a Mocha Swirl / / Cinnamon Bun / / Scone with Berries and Cream / / Lemon curd and Blueberry Tart

No …. not oranges …. (except in background.) Mandarins or is it mandarines given to me from a client’s tree. Darling lady is off for a stint in China as a missionary and asked for a gold coim donation for a huge bag. She recommended that we not be put off by the two tone skin … and indeed the fruit is ripe and sweet ! To her delight the bags were gone in double quick time – with promises of further supplies next week. / Nikon D90 60mm Nikkor Micro Lens / 1/4sec without flash on Tripod / Aperture Priority F/4.5 Exposure Compensation 1.0 ISO 800
