  • ...Is a great woman. Or, in this case, four. I originally made this t-shirt (a satire on the Experimental Jetset tee, “John& Paul& Ringo& George.”) with iron-on letters, as some kind of “f-ck you” to the tiresome musical snobs who fawn over male deities like The Beatles and forget the numerous women in rock – and also as an in-joke between my partner and I, who both always say “Yoko was the best Beatle”. So many people asked me where I got the tee that I decided to make a finished version for you lovely RedBubble types. And no, it’s not Helvetica, but just like we don’t really need another t-shirt glorifying The Beatles, do we really need to let Helvetica get any more out of control than it already is? ;-)

  • Those that own a Nintendo Wii will know how much fun there is trying to create your own Miis to look like famous people. The early Beatles, circa 1967/68 and the Sgt Pepper album seemed to lend themselves well to the Mii treatment, so Let Me Introduce You To, The act you’ve known for all these years…

  • This is a painting I did three years ago. It was intended as a tribute to the great city of Liverpool, England and whilst being a bit whimsical it did include images of the Anglican Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral, Saint John’s Beacon and of course the Beatles. I swapped it with a popular Vancouver (Canada) artist, John Ferrie, for one of his lovely floral acrylics. I wish I’d never swapped now … although I still like John’s painting and it still / hangs on our wall. Owing to a misunderstanding of English etiquette, when I sent John a photo of his painting hanging on our wall he failed to reciprocate. A photo of my painting hanging on John’s wall would have meant an awful lot to me, ‘cos I really respected the guy. Instead of good-naturedly returning my compliment, he claimed I was forcing him to “jump through hoops” when I reminded him a month later. He refused to take the photo and stopped emailing me, claiming I must be suffering from depression … sad, but these things happen and I wish him no ill … he’s a good artist and was a good friend while it lasted. Wherever you are John, I wish you a happy 2009.

  • What would you do if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me. Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song, and I’ll try not to sing out of key. / Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends, he gets high with a little help from his friends, Oh I’m gonna try with a little help from my friends. / What do I do when my love is away. (Does it worry you to be alon). How do I feel by the end of the day (Are you sad because you’re on your own). / No, I get by with a little help from my friends, Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends, Mmm I’m gonna try with a little help from my friends. / Do you need anybody? I need somebody to love. Could it be anybody? I want somebody to love. / Would you believe in a love at first sight? Yes, I’m certain that it happens all the time. What do you see when you turn out the lights? I can’t tell you, but I know it’s mine. / Oh I get by with a little help from my friends, Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends, Oh I’m gonna try with a little help from my friends. / Do you need anybody? I need someone to love. Could it be anybody? I want somebody to love Oh…I get by with a little help from my friends, I’m gonna try with a little help from my friends, I get high with a little help from my friends – Yes, I get by with a little help from my friends, with a little help from my friends… This song performed by the BEATLES and sung by Ringo Starr has always inspired me to remembering FRIENDS and how they always get me ‘high on life’... Started as a doodle, played with in photoshop and fractilius with redbubbles to thank all my friends here for helping me to ‘get by’... with a little help from my friends / /

This illustration was made as an entry into a contest. The artist hosting the contest requested that entries portray her “soul”. (My entry won!) This picture has many abstract meanings to me. / The halo above her head represents her god-like artistic talent. / The hair coming out of her mouth represents her artistic insecurities and doubts. / Her arm is cut off representing her hands that just “wont work” occasionally. / For me, these type of mushrooms represent the passing of time, and since I have followed her artwork for so long I decided to include them. / She’s shattering into many pieces because she is such an abstract and intricate person sometimes it’s just hard to hold herself together. / I’m sure you’re wondering what the green things on her cheeks and shoulders are. Well I’m not entirely sure on that but I do know her favorite color is green. Made with ink and marker, digital texture / © Shannon Luedke

  • The Beatles are the best-selling musical group of all time, estimated by EMI to have over one billion discs and tapes sold worldwide. / They have notched up the most multi-platinum selling albums for any artist or musical group (thirteen in the U.S. alone). The Beatles have a record six diamond-selling albums (10 million copies): Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles, Abbey Road, The Beatles: 1962-1966, The Beatles: 1967-1970, and The Beatles 1 and have had more number one albums than any other group (19 in the U.S. and 15 in the United Kingdom). The Beatles spent the highest number of weeks at number one in the albums chart (174 in the UK and 132 in the U.S.). They were the youngest group to top the UK album charts with their debut album; however, McFly has since topped this record with their debut album in 2004.

down this street is the home where Richard Starkey lived. In a later life he became known as Ringo… you might have heard of him… A pub in Liverpool from aboard the Magical Mystery Tour bus. This is the street where Ringo lived as a lad (or so the tour guide said). Liverpool is a vibrant city with many public installations of art and sculpture. One of the most friendly cities we have ever had the pleasure to visit, full of warm and welcoming people. We look forward to a return visit.

  • Cool Tee + The Beatles = LOVE! ♥ / I’ve been dreaming of making this tee for a while now. Tis so cool to finally see it! I really hope you love the beautiful simplicity of it like I do. And a classic font too. You can’t go past Helvetica for timeless appeal, no siree! And if i were allowed only one CD on a deserted island, it would most def have to be the beatles! (probably Abbey Road :) ♥ JéJé
