The tree still stands as it has for 600 years as proud as ever before / Like a soldier returned bears a lost limb
I came home from school one day when I was 15 and lost my innocence and my belief in man! / Our home was the proud protectors of the base of the trunk of the most wonderful gum tree that had stood on the site for over 600 years! This tree was a significant tree with amazingly 4 limbs pointing exactly north south east and west and was locally referred to as The Compass Tree and had been for over 170 years! / [ I dare say the Indigenous peoples would have called it that also!] .... that was until it had been destroyed by men contracted by the man who lived behind us to remove the limb that hung over his side of the fence! This was before the council would have either a) refused his application to or b) fined and even jailed him for attempting to do it anyway and the contracted men would never have acted without written council permission There was no reason for it there was no disease in the tree it was purely to make the man happy! The man built the house and then had the limb cut off had the wood cut into BBQ friendly pieces and stacked it up in his new wood stack beside his new brick BBQ I had never felt the rage of being “Just a kid” before that day! / And the impotence of being incapable of stopping such senseless selfish small minded ignorant violence! But believe me for several years after the man never had a moment’s peace in his back yard if I knew he was there! Over night I threw every bit of garden and other rubbish over the fence for him to clean up and if I saw him I shouted out murderer! And when he had guests over for a barbie I raided them with rubbish and assaults and told his precious guests about what he did to the tree! / After a few years I didn’t see him for a very long while and finally our lease was up and we had to leave the house. I don’t know what happened to him and I don’t care! His garden became over grown and the wood rotted and became a haven for spiders. If I destroyed him what did it matter? In the time line of that tree it would have seen many many many men come and go! One more would have meant nothing … except I hope that this one realised the stupidity of his selfishness! / But I will NEVER forget that tree! / Writing this has helped a little! / Thank you
[John 1:12-13] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name:
This Explains why as a Born again Child of God, you have a God Given right to Divine health and Prosperity.

Sorry to be serious for a moment but this concerns all of us! Hey friends….I hope you can give us artists a hand on this issue. It is time sensitive, urgent and critical that as many people as possible speak up. The financial crisis is providing cover so this bill is able to sneak through. Because of the scramble on the bail-out bill, this Orphan Works bill was passed in the Senate under the radar. It’s about our copy rights for visual artists, writers, photographers and songwriters…anyone in the creative field. If this Orphan Works bill passes through the House , we artists will be obliged to pay Google, directly or indirectly, $200 for each piece, song, image, etc. we create in order to protect our copyright. At this time, all we have to do is sign our work, put the date and the”circle c” and we have a copyright. If we want more protection, ie. from court costs on infringement issues, we can send our images and $30 to the Copyright Division of the Federal Government, and then we are registered. I don’t think any of us want to further enrich an huge and very wealthy company and make it easier for them to catalogue and use artist’s work without their consent. As we have seen, especially in the recent weeks, the corporations (and the government in cahoots with them) have not served well for the ordinary US citizen. And, for most of us artists, our copyright is one of our most valuable assets. If we have no protection unless we pay, what for most of us, is big money for each creation, then we have no way to make a living. Please click on the site provided…there is a form letter there and it’s easy…send it out and help your artist friends. I included quotes from some of my friends and the Illustration Society, if you want to read more about it. Thank you so much. Jennifer Carrasco Here’s the site http://capwiz. com/illustrators partnership/ issues/alert/ ?alertid= 11980321 “While this is marked “low importance”, it’s exactly the opposite—congress is trying to hotline a bill through that would significantly change the copyright laws. As individuals involved in the generation of creative works, you would be required to register your work with two bureaus for $100 a piece—if not, then your work will be considered “orphan” and you will lose your ownership rights. / / Please read more about this bill, and if you agree, send a letter to your congress people letting them know how you feel—links are below in the e-mail to do this, already written out, etc. / / As you know, copyright is granted automatically in the US when the work is created—you would lose this under this addition to the copyright code. Interestingly enough, Google is a huge supporter of this legislation, as it will eliminate having to get your permission for them to catalogue your work, and repurpose it however they see fit. / / Thanks for your time, and thank you for reading.

4 words / i want a divorce / and the whole world tilts i have a whole writing i wrote about my marriage, the good the bad and the ugly. i have read it and read it, but i finally realize that for me, it all boils down to this one issue- does obtaining my happiness give me the right to destroy another persons happiness in the process? if i need to post the whole writing i may do that later, but for now i need to put these feelings out in the open / no more hiding / no more pretending / no more ignoring posted August 4, 2009 addendum- people are asking about my kids- and rightfully so. / i want to say that my teenage boys and i have discussed this already. they say they are ok with it, they say they understand it, they say they will be relieved. But i know it is hard for them to understand the whole reality of it and i know there will be trying times if i go through with this. But my boys are my whole life and i will not sacrifice their happiness or well being for mine. They will always come first.

My beautiful redbubble friend, Lina, taught me a much needed lesson today, and I was so inspired, and so filled with light from her radiance, I needed to write about it. I shall remember right now and listen to the drum of who i am each day, and be thankful for the beautiful things in my life. Thank you Lina, and love you!

Rufus Wainwright has so many songs that I love, but in listening to this, I always think of small minds and religion that has been perverted. Felt like the right song to listen to when writing this poem I’m going to a town / that has already been burnt down / I’m going to a place / that has already been disgraced / I’m gonna see some folks / who have already been let down / I’m so tired of America / I’m gonna make it up / for all of The Sunday Times / I’m gonna make it up / for all of the nursery rhymes / They never really seem / to want to tell the truth / I’m so tired of you, America / Making my own way home, / ain’t gonna be alone / I’ve got a life to lead, America / I’ve got a life to lead / Tell me, do you really think you go / to hell for having loved? / Tell me, enough of thinking / everything that you’ve done is good / I really need to know, / after soaking the body of / Jesus Christ in blood / I’m so tired of America / I really need to know / I may just never see you again, / or might as well / You took advantage of a world / that loved you well / I’m going to a town / that has already been burnt down / I’m so tired of you, America / Making my own way home, / ain’t gonna be alone / I’ve got a life to lead, America / I’ve got a life to lead / I got a soul to feed / I got a dream to heed / And that’s all I need / Making my own way home, / ain’t gonna be alone / I’m going to a town / That has already been burnt down

This morning I had the pleasure of reading Christie Moses piece, My Brother and Me This Summer and then Erich Biemer work on addiction called Amends without Grace Both inspiring and brilliant pieces that have touched me greatly. I just happen to be working on a piece about my own experience with death at the age of 16 and so in reading these two works decided I would piggy back on this theme as it is a personal part of my life experience. It was many years after this experience (the one that I am writing on) that I finally got ‘it’ and gave into my current joyful sober state of Being. / / However, I have experienced death twice. The first time I was 16 and although it was not like the second time where I did actually die and come back one day later, I was in the throws of this experience called ‘dieing’ and to write this I truly went back and felt it again. (This poem was posted in a skeletal form last year and I took it down and worked on it since off and on for a few months) I consider the experience empowering for that time and place. I did not know I was running from a past that at the time was completely hidden from me till I turned 40. It was then I became aware of what had happened to me as a baby, I finally was able to choose sobriety. I never judge people that are not able to get sober. I tried for a good 10 years until I was given the gift of my own story, via memory recovered. People are not born addicts. Although it is said that through genetics some are prone to become one upon the first taste of a substance. God Bless Time.. for I am sure as I look down from All That Is.. The time it took me to get ‘it’ from 16 to 40 would barely be a blink of an eye, so I like to think I was right on time!!! lolol Lovingly I give this part of my life some focus tonight. / Lynne, I so love you darling heart. / Love, / Linaji
