  • Two ladies riding out on the evening heath at Hilversum/The Netherlands. As you can see, we have very dry weather at the moment, which gave a very special effect of the dust and the light. Hilversum, 8th May 2008, 8.03 pm / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 200 mm / F 5,6, 1/200, ISO 200

  • Taken at Appleby Horse Fair, after swimming across a deep pool in the river, the horse has just touched the bottom again and is trying to jump out of the water. Extra Note about the day, My daughter & 2 of her friends (all 15 year olds) went with me one year. The horses are brought down to the river to be washed and have fun in the water. The girls just stood around near the access point hoping to get involved, well this gypsy owner came down with 5 horses, looked at the girls keen faces and said take them in for me, so they jumped at the chance. All their clothes on straight in, it’s about 30cm deep at the access point then as you ride them round to the start of the deep hole, its 1m deep. Swimming across the deep hole gets them soaked up to the neck and more if you fall off. A fantastic time was had by them all, they were in the river for 2 hours but would not come out even though they were freezing. Lucky a said bring some spare clothes just in case you get to have a go.

  • In the mysterious world of the mistery land near Laage Vuursche last Tuesday I did not meet the headless horseman – and fortunately so, I would say -, but I did encounter these lovely ladies on their beautiful horses. So my luck indeed was perfect: a great autumnal forest, a misty morning and even some riders coming along just in time, too. My day was made! • In Mount Gambier tonight waiting for the start of the Mount Gambier Photography Groups meeting at the Old Town Hall building when three lads rode past on their pushbikes. As they pulled wheel-stands and tricks the ground inset lighting threw large shadows along the wall of the heritage listed building. The lads were good enough to pass through time and time again for us so they we could get a range of images with a difference. Canon 400D – fixed 50 1.8 lens.
