  • God Beam
    by Christophe Testi

    US$7.18–US$191.52

Canon 20D – 17-40mm L – 17mm – 1s – f/11 Antelope Canyon is the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon formed over the course of millions of years by erosion of the Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding and secondarily due to wind erosion. Rainwater (especially during monsoon season) runs into the wash that Antelope Canyon is part of, picking up speed and sand as it rushes through the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways are eroded away, making the corridors wider and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic ‘flowing’ shapes in the rock. Upper Antelope Canyon, called Tse bighanilini, “the place where water runs through rocks” by the Navajo, is the most frequently visited by tourists, due to two considerations. First, its entrance and entire length are at ground level, requiring no climbing. Second, beams (shafts of direct sunlight radiating down from openings in the top of the canyon) are much more common in Upper than in Lower. Beams occur most often in the summer months, as they require the sun to be high in the sky. / In the same series: / / /

  • The Jewel (Arsenal)
    by Ange

    US$6.27–US$167.20

Photographic based digital montage – Feb, 2008. Created over several hrs…2 nights this week (suffering from concussion) from an accidental fall over the wk’end. Photoshop montage combining digital shots of jewels, scanned samples of vintage style wallpaper and added drawn elements. Fifty layers retouched, blended, filtered, colour & tonal curve adjusted. I want to use the design as a furniture (upholstering) fine velvet/suede fabric for a small round bedroom foot stool. Nice to spend time on my own artwork. After work husband Dave & I pretty much spend all our spare time renovating/working on our 123yr old vict. terrace…so a bump to the head stopping me in my tracks wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

  • Rags to Riches
    by Julie Langford

    US$4.13–US$110.20

My other daughter for a change – this is Sarah – AKA InTheMaking For this shot – the title came first [one night in a dream]. So, it was scruffy jeans and trainers, and old tiles on the bottom half. For this I pulled back the carpet to expose the bare tiles underneath and placed some old plasterboard against the wall under the window. We made some tears in a pair of Sarah’s jeans and rubbed some dirt into her trainers. The top half needed to be glitz [items of costume jewellery and my wedding ring], jewels and a red carpet – the wine, well that is just cold tea . I used normal household lighting and just pointed the lampshade in her direction with a soft pearly bulb at 40W. I wanted mono [for rags] and colour [for riches] in the shot, which I achieved in photoshop post production, but not just straight forward selective colouring – it had to graduate in intensity from left to right to get it correct with the perspective I used for the shot. Hope you like it – Sarah will be watching your reponses with a keen eye no doubt.

“I got me the prettiest little fucked up bitch in America, and it’s all my fault. Guess that means I gotta fix you, huh?” He takes a la…

Whatever works, I guess… / / / This is an experimental piece. I wrote it as part stream-of consciousness and part internal journal, sort of. Let me know what you think of it. It took me a bit longer than usual because I’m not used to writing like this. / / / Also, if you don’t understand something about this story, just let me know. I’ll try to patch them over. It can be confusing. / / / / thanks again so much for readin all my writing! makes me feel loved :)

  • The Last Time
    by Alexia Wardell

    US$3.42–US$91.20

When was the last time a moment was taken to sit down and admire the beauty around you? To soak in the setting sun, to listen to a child laugh, or allow a quiet breeze to kiss your cheek. When was the last you counted your blessings, and felt rich just because you were alive? When was the last time you really noticed the beauty around you, and knew that it was created by a loving Father in Heaven just for you. If this were your last day on earth, could you really say that you had lived and appreciated all life has to offer? When was the last time….. Picture taken at Moss Landing California

  • Profile
    by Suni Pruett

    US$3.71–US$98.80

  • Proving once and for all that you can in fact take it with you, comes the one and the only Hell Spawned Heiress. Her body may in fact be in the early stages of rigor mortis but she still has time to make sex tapes, snort anything and everything that she deems snortable, and drag her half-bodied dog Tinkerhell with her everywhere she goes. She does it all with a cool, cocky confidence because her purse is Louis Vuitton, her sun glasses cost six figures and despite her rancid, decaying odor, she knows that you’re so very jealous.

  • Boat In Blue

I just loved how the blue paint of this boat matched the hues of the sea at the time this shot was captured.
