  • This is part of a series of illustrative work which experiments with the relationship between music and image. I seek to create very rhythmic and abstracted form and this illustration is an example of that intent. Drawing is habitual for me and is always the start point to my imagery.

  • I had the pleasure of watching Rick (photo’s subject) do is thing with his drums at Fiasco Bros. Recording Studios last week. Rick allowed me to take shots of him while he layed down tracks for a cover song project. Playing around with various Photoshop filters I ended up with this creation, which easily spawned the title “Rythum In Blues”. The track Rick was drumming to is a cover version of Led Zepplin’s “Achillies Last Stand” with vocals by the fabulously talented (and dear friend) Susan Kovaks. Project produced by Len Osanic Led Zepplin Soundtrack video / Link provided by Redbubbler David Clark ACHILLIES LAST STAND / It was an april morning when they told us we should go / As I turn to you, you smiled at me / How could we say no? With all the fun to have, to live the dreams we always had / Oh, the songs to sing, when we at last return again Sending off a glancing kiss, to those who claim they know / Below the streets that steam and hiss, / The devils in his hole Oh to sail away, to sandy lands and other days / Oh to touch the dream, hides inside and never seen. Into the sun the south the north, at last the birds have flown / The shackles of commitment fell, in pieces on the ground Oh to ride the wind, to tread the air above the din / Oh to laugh aloud, dancing as we fought the crowd To seek the man whose pointing hand, the giant step unfolds / With guidance from the curving path, that churns up into stone If one bell should ring, in celebration for a king / So fast the heart should beat, as proud the head with heavy feet. Days went by when you and i, bathed in eternal summers glow / As far away and distant, our mutual child did grow Oh the sweet refrain, soothes the soul and calms the pain / Oh albion remains, sleeping now to rise again Wandering & wandering, what place to rest the search / The mighty arms of atlas, hold the heavens from the earth The mighty arms of atlas, hold the heavens from the earth / From the earth… I know the way, know the way, know the way, know the way (x2) Oh the mighty arms of atlas, hold the heavens from the earth.

  • This is a series of vector works for an upcoming exhibition – “Sights and Sounds” at Sunset Winery on Sep 26th. The exhibition is loosely based on film and music, hence the name, and I thought I would do a vector series that tries to visualize music. In this second piece, the first and second verses are beginning, weaving music and lyrics together… building to the chorus… More to come. See it bigger here (click on the image to make it bigger) “MUSICALITY – THE BEGINNING” “MUSICALITY – 1st and 2nd VERSES” “MUSICALITY – THE CHORUS” “MUSICALITY – 4th and 5th VERSES” “MUSICALITY – THE END”

  • City lights from the city that never sleeps, New York. Taken on a recent trip, ironically the inspiration was my taking my glasses off for a second and looking down the street. I’m fairly near sighted and this was what I saw. I realized I could get the same effect on manual focus and throwing everything out of focus.
