Landscape view of the rolling hills of northeast Iowa. I think it’s prettiest in the late summer and early autumn. But even at the end of winter it has a tranquil beauty all its own.
That’s what I thought the lyrics to the song: Bad Moon Rising were. You know? “There’s a bad moon on the rise” sounds a lot like “There’s a bathroom on the right.” It’s one of my favorite Woodstock thing songs; I was 17 at the time and that music is still part of my soul. I see the bad moon a-rising. / I see trouble on the way. / I see earthquakes and lightnin’. / I see bad times today. / Chorus: / Don’t go around tonight, / Well, its bound to take your life, / There’s a bad moon on the rise. I hear hurricanes a-blowing. / I know the end is coming soon. / I fear rivers overflowing. / I hear the voice of rage and ruin. / Chorus: / Don’t go around tonight, / Well, its bound to take your life, / There’s a bad moon on the rise. All right! / Hope you got your things together. / Hope you are quite prepared to die. / Looks like were in for nasty weather. / One eye is taken for an eye. / Chorus: / Don’t go around tonight, / Well, its bound to take your life, / There’s a bad moon on the rise. Created for the Summer of ‘69 ~ Woodstock ~ 40 Years Challenge and also to pay homage to Creedence Clearwater Revival!!!
A house in Montezuma, Georgia, that I have stalked a bit too much, but I think I finally got the image I was after. The house is being restored, but it’s still got just the right amount of decay and old dignity to make me think of how Faulkner would have described it in a story.
Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Bushells Back in 1883, when Alfred ‘the Tea Man’ Bushell opened his first teashop in Queensland, he knew he was onto something good. His distinctly smooth, and full-flavoured tea quickly became an over-the-counter sensation, together with his rigorous attention to quality and authenticity ensured his success. / Through two world wars, floods, droughts, booms and busts, Australia has changed a lot, but it’s nice to know some things haven’t! / For over 125 years, a long line of expert tea tasters have worked hard to maintain “the Tea Man’s” highest quality standards, so that we can now, all enjoy the great authentic Bushells cuppa, year after year, generation after generation. / Bushells is also the major national sponsor of the ‘Driver Reviver’ road safety program, supporting the volunteers (SES, Lions, Fire Fighters and many other community groups) who give up their own time to serve a refreshing cuppa to more than one million Australian motorists, every year. Albuquerque, New Mexico is known for some really old cars, classic automobiles that has seen little to no rust, it’s relatively easy to keep rust from forming where there is only 8 to 13 inches a year, and averaging humidity levels common to around 20%, sorry for not getting the manufactures name, must have gotten excited! Another historic Building I came across while walking the streets of Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Merchants Exchange opened in 1834 and stood in the commercial heart of the city. Merchants, manufacturers, brokers and shipmasters gathered here to trade stocks and commodities and to learn the latest business news. The Exchange has been called architect William Strickland’s ‘Philadelphia Masterpiece’. Strickland broke with British traditions and became the leader in Greek Revival architecture. The Philadelphia Exchange has been restored on the exterior only and is not open to the public.
Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Government House – Sydney Built between 1837 and 1845, for the Governor of New South Wales, Government House was the most sophisticated Gothic Revival building in the colony. The ground floor State Rooms include the dining room, drawing room and ballroom. These contain an outstanding collection of 19th and 20th century furnishings and decoration that reflect changing styles and the differing tastes of the Governors and their wives. The first floor includes State Apartments that were used by the Governor, visiting members of the Royal Family and other Heads of State. The house is sited in an important historic garden with exotic trees, shrubs, carriage ways, paths and terraces overlooking Sydney Harbour. Additional Information: Australia’s First Government House was the first major building to be constructed on the Australian mainland. Started only months after the 11 ships of the First Fleet sailed through the Sydney Heads in 1788, this symbol of colonial power sat on the most prominent site on Sydney Cove. The remains of some of its structures have been preserved on site at the Museum of Sydney in Sydney’s central business district.
Metal medaillon of Virgin Mary on an old wooden door
Roane, a selkie, was once a maiden of the sea, but her seal skin was taken from her. Now she spends her days dreaming of the cool tide and freedom. / Though she looks solemn she is a creature of simple delights: she revels in the rain and adores the scent of ripe tomatoes. / Her knowledge of joy is as boundless as the sea. Gift art. I think I will send her to my cousin. / Ink on cardstock.

This is a monoprint that was created after the original editions of the black print was produced. I used washes of acrylic paints to add a different look to the overall work. Please reference the intaglio work to understand the original process. The dimensions of the piece are 5in. X 4in. It was altered and painted in 2008.
