If anyone out there needs to write something, and wants it to be good, I’ve got a name for you. A couple of weeks ago I suddenly found myself needing to have a brief well-written description of my artwork because I will have a bunch of my work available through an agent. I hate trying to write about myself anyway, and I know most other people feel the same, but writing has always been a huge difficulty for me. I sent a friendly suck-up email to Ted Widen, a cyber friend who I met on ArtWanted and is with us here on RedBubble as “MooseMan”. He’s a writer, as you would be able to tell if you’ve ever read the stories he puts with the pictures he creates, and instantly took the load off me back. I wasn’t even really sure what it was I wanted, or needed, so I gave him the information I had and I soon had his first version. He was wonderful about being adaptable to the changes I asked for as I got a better picture of what I needed the summary to say. Within about three days I had what I needed. He’s an artist with words, if you know what I mean. For $50 I now have the description written as I want it, AND less stress. I thought I would spread the word because he’s prepared to do more of this kind of work and, besides, I thought more people should know we have a writer available. / /

I ventured into full time employment from 1996 on a traineeship with Queensland Pride, a monthly community newspaper for three years, where i was involved in a large variety of departments within the newspaper. This opened quite a window for me for my future with the aim to “Work” doing things I am truly passionate about, where I found I performed the best and happiest. Embracing the challenge of creating a career, I moved my family to Sydney where I worked at various places that utilized my love of creative arts, music and community, in which quite by accident the opportunity of ‘Photography at Music Events & Festivals’ began in my life. My registered business led me to paid freelance projects that found me thru word of mouth and various volunteer projects/exchanges, with regular clients offering me regular work. Family responsibilities and the need for wholesome lifestyle for my children, led the move to Melbourne in 2003. Though I have not been technically ‘employed’ since then, my freelance career projects and opportunities have increased dramatically, which included international opportunities and featured exposure in prominent publishings, which are all detailed in my resume. 2008 is the time where my children are young adults, and a time where I can give to myself, 100% commitment to my chosen career/employer in which I am able to utilize all the skills and knowledge I have acquired in the past as a solo parent of four and career person.
