  • Taken at Dunwich heath 24.5.09 at 11.30am Dunwich Heath is a Nationial Tust Property that is in Suffolk right next to the coast and in View of Sizewell B. It is a wonderful part of land mainly Heathland and treed areas and great for bird spotting. This area is a favourite place for us to stop and have a rest or eat our packed lunch, it always seem quiet here and very few people about. I love to watch the dragon flies dance around on the reed beds, and in the winter when the water if frozen the colours are beautiful. Spring we have the ferns bright green and ready to unfurl. Nikon D90 and 18-105vr lens Focal length 30mm / F/.8 / Exposure 1/500sec and -1.3 step / ISO 200 Hand held, Aperture Piority, manual focus. Processed in Nikon Color Pro 3, just given a glamour glow layer and then a very slight tonal contrast to bring the seat and trees textures out. No other cahnges.

  • As the meet with my friend and fellow Redbubbler Jason Connolly was coming to an end, I decided to take Jason to one of my favourite places to visit, near to where I used to live in Eyam, a beautiful village in the Peak District National Park. This is a place called Hidden Falls, which is on land owned by a farm across the road, but has public access. It is off the road a bit and a short trek through some wood, with a bit of a hike down into a Hollow where your eyes are greeted by a beautiful waterfall flowing down the cliff edge. It looks like something out of a prehistoric movie, or something you might imagine you would find on Paradise Island. Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / 28-300mm IS zoom lens / f/22 / 30 seconds / ISO 125 / Cokin Filter system, Grade 8 ND filter, Graduate ND filter 121 and 120 (inverted) used to give the longest possible exposure time. / Slight adjustment of lighting using iPhoto.

  • Taken at Buttermere in the Lake District, when I met up for the first time with friends from Red Bubble – Jason Connolly and Steve Smith. First R.B meet for me with them and I had a great day out. The clear blue water at Buttermere from this view was enough to make me stop and just soak it all in. This log seemed an interesting foreground, so I couldn’t resist a quick shutter release! Taken with a Canon EOS D450 with 18-55mm IS lens.
