A native Australian bee, Perhaps a Resin Bee, eg Megachile aurifrons, on lavender in rural Central Victoria, Australia. Brilliant red-and-yellow eyes contrast dramatically with the charcoal of the creature’s body, giving a vampiric appearence.
This is a macro showing part of a conk mushroom sweating with resin on an old oak tree in Kirk Pond Unit, which is part of the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area, Oregon. / (If you look close at the center droplet you will see what looks like a small white crab spider trapped in it.)
Under the bark of a pinetree, macro shot…...you certainly know that yummy and beautiful substance that we call in french…”Gomme de Pin” picked up by the natives to do all kinds of remedes and cures. It’s good for arthritis, colds, soar throught, the gum tastes much better when it’s fresh from the tree…I used to chew a lot of that stuff when I was young,it’s antiseptic and medecinal with no side effects…it can even reduce stress and it tastes very good…..nature is so surprising!!! /

Because of extremis these lovely grasstrees produce perfectly round balls of a very strong resin. Traditional owners used this resin to fasten objects like spearpoints.
This is a picture of a fantastic bracelet my other daughter-in-law, Holly has. It is a beetle in resin on leather tethers. Beautiful to behold!--Soooooo, I took it and put a twist on it with my MSPS Warp App. I like to results.

Areios Pagos Anatolikis Ellados: flag of the Areopagus of Eastern Continental Greece (1821-1825), with symbols of faith, charity (love), and hope (First Epistle to the Corinthians, chapter 13). A rebrand of a symbol that is within the public domain here Cannabis, also known as marijuana or marihuana, or ganja (from Hindi/Sanskrit: गांजा gañjā, hemp), is a psychoactive drug extracted from the plant Cannabis sativa, or more often, Cannabis sativa subsp. indica. The herbal form of the drug consists of dried mature flowers and subtending leaves of pistillate (female) plants. The resinous form, known as hashish, consists primarily of glandular trichomes collected from the same plant material. The major biologically active chemical compound in cannabis is Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), commonly referred to as THC. Humans have been consuming cannabis since prehistory, although in the 20th century there was a rise in its use for recreational, religious or spiritual, and medicinal purposes. It is estimated that about four percent of the world’s adult population (162 million) use cannabis annually and 0.6 percent (22.5 million) daily. The possession, use, or sale of psychoactive cannabis products became illegal in most parts of the world in the early 20th century. Since then, some countries have intensified the enforcement of cannabis prohibition while others have reduced the priority of enforcement. TO TAKE THE PISS / To take the piss is a British slang expression meaning to mock, tease, ridicule or scoff. Take the mickey (or variations) are euphemistic ways of conveying this expression where the word “piss” may be vulgar. / The term sometimes refers to a form of mockery or a piss take in which the mocker exaggerates the other person’s characteristics; pretending to take on his or her attitudes, etc., in order to make them look funny. / The phrase is in common usage throughout English society, employed by headline writers in broadsheet gazettes and tabloids as well as colloquially and is also used in English speaking countries such as Australia. In colloquial usage, ‘taking the piss’ is also used to refer to someone or something that makes a claim which is not in line with a recognised agreement e.g. an invoice that is double the quoted price with no explanation for the added charge could be said to ‘take the piss’, or likewise if something consistently misses a deadline ACRYLIC ART CALENDARS CARDS POETRY PHOTOGRAPHY – ANIMALS PHOTOGRAPHY -CANDID SHOTS PHOTOGRAPHY – CATS AND DOGS PHOTOGRAPHY – CONTEMPORARY WORK PHOTOGRAPHY – FLOWERS PHOTOGRAPHY – INSECTS PHOTOGRAPHY – TRADITIONALLY TURKISH PHOTOGRAPHY – TREE AND TREE PARTS T-SHİRTS My Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. This is kind of a sneak preview of a series I’m working on, entitled “Hash Dreams” or “Forays in Prohibited Art”. The fold in the middle of the image is intentional, as it’s part of the process involved in making these. Each piece not only contains but is essentially derived from marijuana resin, making it art that is technically illegal to possess or distribute in most countries, simply by virtue of the fact that it is partly comprised of one tiny little, effectively harmless, chemical. So far, I’ve been able to take this process in some pretty interesting directions. It’s alot like staring at clouds, really, waiting until the perfect image comes up. In that spirit, I’ve strived to maintain a sort of primitive art quality to most of these. Two or three look like straight up cave paintings. I don’t know why, really. I suppose it just rubs me the right way. Chalk pastels, one or two touches of black india ink, and marijuana resin on 9” x 11.75 ” white charcoal paper.

This is part of a resin carving I picked up in Ji Nan, China, in 1999. It reminds me a bit of the character in Mad Max.
