“Bare Tree on a Springtime Sunset” was featured in the “New Jersey Scenery” group on October 28, 2009 This was early spring around 5:30 p.m. The light was very unusual, unusual enough to make me stop the car. One thing that life in the creative arts has taught me, is that the picture will not still be there on your way back. It was taken at South Mountain Reservation in West Orange, New Jersey.

The Trowutta arch is an unusual and spectacular landform located in the Trowutta State Forest Reserve, north-west of Tasmania. / The Trowutta Arch is a natural arch between two collapse dolines or surface depressions of notable size. It is the largest and best developed such formation in Tasmania. Karst arches in a non-stream channel situation are uncommon in Tasmania. The Trowutta Arch is both an outstanding example due to its scale and representative for this type of formation in Tasmania. / The place has a cool temperate climate with a rainfall of about 1500 mm per year.

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Tiny My son came across this tiny little Mountain Dragon, whilst we were out walking in the Winburndale National Reserve, Sunny Corner, near Bathurst, New South Wales. Thanks to the two Steve’s, I have now found out that this little guy is in fact a Mountain Dragon and not a Gecko! Much Appreciated!! The Mountain Dragon (Rankinia diemensis ) is one of the smallest lizards that bears the name dragon. They grow to around 20cm in length and can be found from the Blue Mountains to Victoria as well as Tasmania. However, they usually blend in so well that they go unnoticed. Mountain Dragons are very similar in appearance to Jacky Lizards. / References advise that a primary difference is the colour of their mouths – Mountain Dragon’s are blue and Jacky Lizards are yellow. Mountain Dragons are oviparous – that is, they lay eggs. The small juveniles – barely 7cm in length – are fond of little black ants.

People caught in Moorlands Wood standing a recent edition to the pond, the deck. This a small nature reserve on the outskirts of York in North Yorkshire, run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

This shipwreck is on the banks of the River Wyre at Fleetwood Marsh Green nature reserve. Taken on a Canon EOS 450D. One RAW file and then made three tiffs from that. One underexposed, the correct one and one over exposed. Then HDR’d using Photomatix and tonemapped. Tweaked in photoshop afterwards.
