I have been watching and waiting for one of these for a month or so now – one of my favourite native flowers. There is something about their woolly (flannel?!) leaves which I find so unusual. Shot in the Mt Kuringai National Park – Kalkari Reserve – on Bobbin Head Road (Sydney Australia). (Actinotus helianthi) / Flannel flower, a common name applied to several herbaceous plants of the Australian genus Actinotus, belonging to the carrot family. / It is a short-lived perennial, living up to four years in its natural environment. It grows in full sun or semi-shade. They flower between late September and early December. Of the 15 species of the genus, the best known and one of the most attractive, is the Sydney or Eastern Flannel Flower, A. helianthi, which ranges from the far south-east of NSW into south Queensland, and as far north as the sandstone tablelands inland from Rockhampton. It is an erect subshrub, up to a metre tall, with rather brittle stems and soft silver-grey leaves having a dense covering of pale woolly hairs. The daisy-like or star-shaped flowers are up to 8 centimetres across with an outer ring of long cream petals (bracts) which are flannel-like in texture.

From the Federal Reserve Act: To provide for the establishment of Federal reserve banks, to furnish an elastic currency, to afford means of rediscounting commercial paper, to establish a more effective supervision of banking in the United States, and for other purposes. LEARN Liberty does not consist in mere declarations of the rights of man. It consists in the translation of those declarations into definite action. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the world – no longer a Government of free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men. Woodrow Wilson / (1856-1924) 28th US President SOURCE OF QUOTES By the way, the Federal Reserve Banks pay no taxes: Exemption from Taxation (c) Federal reserve banks, including the capital stock and surplus therein, and the income derived therefrom shall be exempt from Federal, State, and local taxation, except taxes upon real estate.* Source Federal Reserve

The reflection of an Impala ram is caught as he silently tiptoes along the edge of a waterhole in Luthuli game reserve, South Africa. / Sometimes, when trying to spot game it seems so elusive that all that can be seen or heard are whispers in the bush, footprints and the fleeting glimpse of a reflection.

I photographed this majestic blue heron in Point Lobos State Reserve in CA. It is fascinating to watch this bird standing on a floating log, for hours, waiting for the right moment to catch a passing fish. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- I will donate 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image and the ones below to the American Bird Conservancy Consider these images as companions! / And the T-Shirt below
