At high tide on a hot day, it’s a cooling spot for a swim; the best place to take dip is under one of the many Tea Trees which overhang the water along the boardwalk between Mallabula and Tanilba Bay. /

The interior of one of the small rustic looking cafe / restaurants in Degraves Street, Melbourne. The lane way is crammed with cafes and restaurants, with tables and chairs packed to capacity down the centre of the lane. European influence has a lot to do with why this hidden feature of Melbourne city ended up this way. I don’t think I have ever walked down Degraves Street and seen it empty. Places like this are the reason I love living in Melbourne so much. Bit of colour blanching and lightening of contrast, all done in photoshop. Original photo slightly cropped (to remove an mac book from the view!) Title inspired by Beth Orton’s song of the same name.
