  • Something different for me. I have recently been spending some time teaching myself the art of pattern creation with Illustrator and this is one of my favorites so far. see also Starflower and Fields / I’ve been thinking of writing a quick tutorial on the creation of this one as it is so simple. If anyone is interested drop me a comment or Bmail and I’m sure that will motivate me. Thanks for viewing. Update I have uploaded the tutorial and it can be found Here

  • Another pattern I created while teaching myself how best to use Illustrator to create seamless tiles. See also Reggtro and Starflower This one was used to figure out what I can and can’t get away with. / This one is also interesting because I was experimenting with using Illustrators symbols. / The advantage being that once I have my tile repeating using a symbol(s) all I need to do to update the pattern is update the symbol and the changes made will propagate throughout. You can set up a similar technique in Photoshop by using smart layers. /

  • This was an earlier version of Gumdrops that I wasn’t going to upload, but as it has been my desktop favorite for a few weeks now, I figured it deserved a chance out in the wild. Other patterns /

  • the other day I did a collage of images with the fantastic Lyra pencils used at my school, over a water colour images I’ve had from TAFE (yes, about 15years ago)-finally it’s put to good use. I drew randomly, then cut the images up without looking, drew a reiki symbol on the back of each, and stuck them to small white cards. I wrote a message to each person and wouldn’t you know it-I didn’t have enough! I made over 25-but there are so many staff members I enjoyed working with, I couldn’t tell them all personally how much I appreciated their company.

I love you both… And, who thinks I should edit this and put it on a shirt, I was thinking of doing a series of just single sets on shirts, or all of them in this set up with the background removed…. ....your call!

  • Brighton Esplanade Covered walkway. / Brighton, East Sussex, UK. Camera Nikon D700 with 24-120mm Lense. This shot was slightly over-exposed in the sky to reveal the details in the shadows of the covered walkway. Love the green colours and warm tones. The lines were in accordance with the golden mean ratio. 1.61803399…. This is meant to be pleasing to eye. /

  • featured in Abstract Art 11-13-2009 I am getting alot of questions about the rendering time of Incendia! It’s important to know it’s never done so don’t wait for it to finish, you have to stop and check for the detail regularly and save it when you are satisfied with the amount of detail showing! Here’s a little collage, a detail of a very large file, rendered in Incendia 1.3 the first is after a couple hours of rendering, the second after a day, the third after two days and the fourth after three days, as you can see the detail gets more clear all the time. Hope this helps a bit! The new Incendia 1.3 is now available to the public, please check it out and give it a try and if you like it make a donation to get the HighRez version, you won’t regret it, it is BRILLIANT!! Wishing you all a fabulous and creative week! KUS! daisy~’*-
