  • Buddha Within
    by Maya -

    US$5.23

Oil on canvas 61 X 61 cm. Completed April 2008. “All living beings have the Buddha nature and can become Buddhas” – Buddha Buddha Within illustrates the story of personal awakening. My understanding of the personal awakening process is that when undergoing the final awakening stage, the kundalini (rainbow serpent) becomes an intense fire (red/orange beside the tree trunk) shooting through the spine engulfing the body. The energy (green vortexes) required is enormous. As the kundalini reaches the crown chakra, it fully opens and all earthly limitations drop away. This being is no longer tied to a religion or faith but now embraces them all as represented by the sacred symbols in the tree. The consciousness now resides in the higher self and is one with the universe and all that is. When the transformation is complete sonic waves (the four vertical crystalline waves) travel out into the universe to let all of creation know of the grace that has taken place. All life is naturally drawn to the radiant and divine being that has become pure Buddha consciousness (centre). At each of the chakra points on the Buddha is a Swarovsky crystal in the relevant chakra colour. Crystal magnifies the properties of the chakra energy. / Buddha Within is divided into four quadrants (earth, fire, water, air) and the five elements including precious metals (bottom corners). The red veins dividing the quadrants represent the lower dimension (inner earth). The higher dimension is represented by the white equilateral triangle. If you look closely, you can see the texture of the underlying branches in the tree. These were meticulous painted before adding the covering of leaves. The tree must be complete in the physical, in order to emit the complete energy of the life form. Imbibed in the painting is sand from a sand mandala created by Gyuto Monks. They had spent a week painstakingly building an exquisite sand mandala. Upon its completion the mandala was ceremonially deconstructed and the sand poured into the local river for healing, accompanied by prayer and the blasting of Tibetan ceremonial horns. Some of the sand is held back and distributed to those who attend the ceremony: it holds sacred healing properties. I used some of the sand from this mandala, mixing it in the purple paint used for the crown charka encircling the white triangle and Buddha. Buddha Within is the third in a series and preceded by The Dream and The Awakening.

  • LIES
    by VisionaryImagist

    US$5.13–US$136.80

LIES / OIL ON STRETCHED CANVAS / $900 US (11” X 14” ORIGINAL) / SIGNED DEDICATED PRINTS AVAILABLE Tangled and mangled they were found. Amidst lies and deceits of their own making. Never realizing how enmeshed they had become in their own deceits. Attached to their lies for eternity. Never being able to see what their perfidy had done to them. A Hell of their own making. Jailed to the bedrock of their lies with no escape possible. It started small, as most lies do, then grew to an enormity that encompassed their entire life and so within this dark shadowed existence they were to remain till the crack of doom awoke. One said aloud for all to hear, “how do I stop this perpetual torture? Is there any way to escape this bondage?” I watched silently as this terrible scene unfolded before my eyes. I did not wish to be seen by these helpless lost souls for I feared that they would petition me to somehow end their misery. I could only remain their witness, I thought, not their liberator. And so my dream, no my nightmare, continued until my reprieve arrived in the morning’s light. This nocturnal visitation was so alarming and so vivid that it demanded testimonial and so I grab my brushes and my paints and proceeded to recall what I had witnessed the night before. So here is a little tale of woe brought to life by oil, canvas and these words recalled Sir Walter Scott “Oh, what tangled webs we weave when first we practice to deceive”. visionary imagist “Joey”

  • THE SIGN
    by VisionaryImagist

    US$5.13–US$136.80

THE SIGN / OIL ON STRETCHED CANVAS / $3000 US (24” X 36” ORIGINAL) / SIGNED DEDICATED PRINTS AVAILABLE I can lose my way if I so chose or I can be led to a Higher Ground. The choice remains within my grasp. Each day presents itself anew and each day a new page in the book of life is written and I am the author of those chapters that will fill my book. Now, I cannot decide what will happen to me but I do decide how I will respond. It is not within my power to control the vagaries of life but I am like the captain of a ship who sails many seas. There are times when the sailing is easy and there are times when it is not. Sometimes the weather can be perilous and place my craft in dangerous waters. So dangerous that it would seem to this captain that my journey might be at it’s end or at the very least not to my liking. It is then when I must hold steadfast to the helm and right my ship so that I don’t lose my sense of direction. Amidst those times of grave peril I begin to look for a sign, a symbol, a revelation of what I should do. A Power greater than myself. Some greater Captain, than I, that knows these troubled waters well and can help me to navigate my ship and gain me safe passage home. A Southern Cross that will secure and protect my voyage. You see I am a pilgrim mariner who is searching for safe harbor. The safe harbor that is in my Father’s land. I need not worry. He would never allow anything to happen to me that He and I could not handle. Together, with Him, all things become possible. Nothing is left to chance. His Cross thwarts and blockades any and all evils that would prevent me from returning to His loving arms. I am a child of God and He is my loving parent. He will never leave my side. This is His pledge, His promise to all of His children. This is the sign, the Cross, that will lead me to my home. visionary imagist “Joey”

  • Solitude
    by TerriRiver

    US$31.35–US$167.20

The bridge reminds me of an emotion of solitude, which is not to be confused with loneliness. The former leads to an internal peace and being one with nature and oneself while the latter was a feeling of being forced to be alone, deprived of freedom and choice. I used to call this photo “Peaceful Bridge” until a young patient of mine (at the time she was nine years old) explored the difference between solitude and loneliness. When the image was presented to him as an illustration, he exclaimed, “Oh, solitude is peace, inner peace!” And the true title of the piece was born. Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

  • POETRY CALLS FORTH SPRING / OIL ON STRETCHED CANVAS / $1500 US (16” X 20” ORIGINAL) / SIGNED DEDICATED PRINTS AVAILABLE There she stood high on a crest overlooking tomorrow. Her soft, melodious oratory would call forth again the annual rebirth of all she surveyed. The vigor and vitality of Her spoken word was evident as she commenced the awakening of a new Spring. This slumbering world that had been in deep repose all Winter long was eagerly awaiting Her arrival. Her commands were direct and clear to all Her citizens to arise from the cold chilling Winter’s sleep to start again this yearly ritual of new beginnings. Her words became poetry. The poetry of Nature. And Nature became the elegant robes that God would wear so that we could see His abundance and munificence. It is through the generous gifts of Mother Nature’s handiwork that we canwitness and come to know and believe in the Creator. Everywhere the imprint of a Higher Power can be seen. Nowhere is not present and our Mother loudly proclaims this fact. And so it is through the language of poets that words can describewhat cannot be described, reveal what cannot be revealed and hear what cannot be heard. Melodies of speech that are so harmonious, so beautiful, so invigorating that all that hear their tunes are transported magically to fresh new worlds. Worlds of undiscovered epiphanies waiting to be unveiled. So to all of you poets, known or unknown, published or unpublished, it falls upon you to tell us, through the power of words, the indescribable expressions that enrich our life’s. Heed the clarion call, remain resolute and determined in your craft. Just as the Muse of Poetry calls forth a new Spring, She calls out to you, the poet, to fulfill your duty and tell us your poems. visionary imagist “Joey”

  • The Temple
    by Caprice Sobels

    US$4.28–US$114.00

This photograph was taken within a busy temple in Shanghai, China. I feel like I managed to capture both movement and peacefulness in the same moment with this shot. It’s one of my favourites.

  • SOUGHT THROUGH PRAYER & MEDITATION / OIL / $3000 US (ORIGINAL 24” X 36”) / SIGNED DEDICATED PRINTS AVAILABLE Some truths are like lights so bright that they blind. These lights overwhelm the mind and senses and leave one confounded. So it becomes necessary to have a different process when examining these truths. A flashlight can help us to see in the dark but is useless in the light of the noon day sun. So we must throw away our old way of thinking and find a new one. A new process that employs an intuition, a faith, as it were, a guide to realms where the light is so bright that the finite falters. An interpreter that can maneuver through previously untraveled territory. This interpreter is found in quiet solitude, prayer and meditation. It’s language is silence and silence is the language of God. It is in silence that we may hear the still, small voice that Is. (visionary imagist”Joey”)
