This work is about the future that is inside of you. I was originally inspired to create this piece while I was listening to a speaker talk about how God sees us. That He sees us in our completed form; that there is a future YOU inside you right now. He sees all that you are capable of and placed that inside of you when He created you. / In my work I am conveying a majestic, tall oak tree, exists complete within a tiny acorn somewhere in the future. It’s the knowledge of the future that is the key to unlocking it and releasing it. So be aware of your potential and Hold on to YOUR future. “Something very small and average has the potential to be very great.” / - Carrie Glenn Hand drawn images from my own photos, then airbrushed and painted You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios / To purchase the card I created from this work Click Here /

Hello! Another week another RedBubble release. This week there’s a couple of new things – the ability to bulk delete BubbleMail and a sneak preview of a the RedBubble ‘private site’. The private site is designed to allow you to create a site showcasing just your work. The thinking behind the private site is that RedBubble needs to evolve into a much more dynamic website. Everyone wants different things from RedBubble. Some folks are here for the learning, some are here to sell, some are here for the positive feedback, some are here to be entertained. Et cetera. We’re never going to be able to create one static site that satisfies all needs, so over the next little while we’re going to evolve RedBubble into a much more dynamic site that people can tailor and adapt to suit their needs. The private site is still a few weeks away from public release, but we’ve got a very very early beta product ready for today and I’ll like to show you all an example and ask for your feedback. The example site can be found here and I’d particularly value general feedback on the new configuration menu which appears to the right of the large images (the menu is still a work in progress) and the options you’d like to see us offer in the private site as we build it out over the next couple of weeks. And finally we stumbled across this review of RedBubble a couple of days ago. We love these reviews and they’re great for improving the Google rank of RedBubble and all the work on RedBubble. So if you feel like writing about RedBubble please ‘go nuts’. The more links back to RedBubble the better. You might also want to check out all the tools for linking to RedBubble available here. Have a great week! Peter

It’s that time of the week again already, and this week there are two important additions to the site today. Gaia, the book, is now on sale. It looks fantastic, get your copy from the RedBubbble Store. For more information, and a list of those published, please see this post. Even bigger news is that today we have launched a new take on RedBubble’s continued exploration of New Art. We see this art as a move away from art bestowed upon us to art that ultimately embraces all of us as co-equals in its creation and interpretation. The publications ‘In the Moment’ and ‘Gaia’ were part of this exploration. The new work ‘PAX’ is an online Mosaic of 16,384 images from RedBubble artists that aims for a collective beauty that is no greater than any single one of its components. It is an art work that is complete on the Web, fully harnessing the power and potential of this medium in its creation and in its display. Enjoy! - Pilgrim

Hello hello, Today we had a little micro release. I thought the old comment replies looked pretty ugly (hard to read) so our friendly Internet programer type person Russ made them look better. We’ve also released a new checkout screen which we’re testing on a small percentage of all checkouts here. The idea is that we’ll test the new page over the next couple of days to make sure it works for 100% of folks and then release it site wide on Monday. To view the page you’ll need something in your cart. For those of you with an inclination toward t-shirt design a new site-wide challenge was launched a recently: Attention all t-shirt designers. Put down your piña coladas as there will be no January holiday for you this year! The folks at London street wear store Demo were so blown away by the response to the London Calling competition, they want to do it all over again. They’re giving you the chance to get your t-shirt design in their shop window, just by London’s Carnaby Street. Your theme is ‘Sound’. That’s right, the stuff you can hear. The theme is open to wide interpretation so you could choose to cover anything from music through to cochlear implants. You can find out more here Ciao, - Peter

We told you it was coming and then we let you have a sneak peak , then we tried to release it – But now it’s here. / / So what’s new in this release, some big things, some smaller, all nice and shiny. / Clearly there’s a new look around the place and a whole lot of shuffling around. For a detailed look at this checkout the Backstage post Tags now have to be comma separated, this is so you can have multi-word tags like “new york city” or “south australia”. My Groups panel in MyBubble – This is replacing the “group news” panel to give you a better look at activity across your groups and to flag when there’s new Group Messages for you to check out. It also lets you quickly check in on challenges you’ve entered (and how many votes you’ve recieved). Group messages are also now in your activity feed. Image Feed (a.k.a. Work and Favorites from your watchlist, a.k.a. Work you may have missed) is now configurable. Pick what you want to see, or just turn it off completely. Lovely new edit button – Let’s you quickly jump in to edit one of your works from the public view . Members lists and “My Groups” in groups are now sorted in alphabetical order. Group promotional tools – You’ll hear more about these soon. So hopefully you all enjoy what’s finally gone out today – and we’ll do our best to squash any remaining bugs quick-smart. / / Note also: Your activity feeds have to be disabled for a few hours while we update the database to to handle all the new group messages and put them in your activity feed. Sorry it takes so long, but there’s a tonne of activity! / / - Russ says enjoy and have a nice day.
I want to thank Paul V for being such an amazing model! You are such a delight to work with! xox Vonne The end is simply a new beginning. We shed the shell that is our body and are transformed to pure energy as we return home.

Today we have released a “beta” (yes we had to use the word) of a new homepage. We will be randomly showing it to about 10% of users. Here is the general look. The main purpose of the new design is to be much clearer on messaging. The number one issue we hear from new users who don’t join (we have to wrestle them to the ground on the way out the door to get this information from them) is that they just don’t get what RedBubble is about. The new page is designed to be clearer and given stronger reasons for joining. In testing the page with people the major concern we have heard from existing members is that it may reduce sales. We don’t think this is the case as sales are overwhelming driven by deep searches in the site (“fractal cats” or whatever) but clearly this is the number one thing we will be testing for. We have complete alignment of interest with members to ensure that the page improves sales. There is no room for error on this and the page will only go to a wider group when we are confident it has improved performance on all measures (sales, sign ups etc). In relation to sales the number one thing we notice that differentiates people who sell a lot from others (who may or may not be interested in selling) is the effort the higher sellers put into promotion. If you want assistance with sales the easiest thing to do is to add the Selling user to your watchlist. On another topic the deadline to enter works in the Music Machines“ T Challenge has been extended by a week. Main reason is Mr Baxter is washing his boxer shorts. Also people said they want more time. So you have a little under 2 weeks from now to get your work in.
SomeTimes you just have to let go

You may have noticed some changes around the site as a result of a few features we’ve recently released. One of the core facets of the Redbubble site is the work that all of the artists in the community upload and display. Over the past few months, there has been a steady increase in the quantity of work being uploaded and it has started to stress some of the foundations of the Redbubble system. Some of our users will have experienced the side effects of this in their efforts to share their work with the community, and this was not lost on us. In answer to this challenge, we’ve drastically re-engineered the upload mechanics: the lion’s share of these changes will be hidden from users, but there are some notable differences to the way you add work. One of the biggest changes is that files uploaded are sent to a completely separate component of the Redbubble site, which means that the processing and storing of these images does not impact the load of the main servers – the upshot of this is that we have more room in the rest of the site. A more noticable change is to the workflow of adding image based work. One reality of the Internet is that uploading a 50MB file takes significantly longer than the time it takes for you to send your username and password for a login screen. This length of time begins to feel even longer when you have no ability to see how far through the upload you are. As part of the recent round of changes, we’ve added a Flash-based uploader which incorporates a progress bar, allowing you to see how much of the file has been transferred. Another benefit is that while the upload takes place, you are free to edit the details of your work, streamlining the process somewhat. Users without a Flash plugin will still have the ability to add work, but won’t see a progress bar. We hope you enjoy the new changes and that they make your life a little easier, and we certainly encourage you to take advantage of them – we’re now prepared to handle everything that you’ve got to share! Paul
