  Well the sky’s opened up last night and it rained like you would not believe. During the night I decided to not go to work. Instead I took a trip to the local falls near my house. / Of course I took my new toy with me. My IR filter lens for my camera. :-). I snapped 200 plus pictures and just enjoyed the day. Talk about an awesome day. I need to do this more often. Now of course the downfall is its going to take me forever to look at all my pictures. I WILL be playing hooky again soon! Thank you to everyone for viewing my photos, leaving me comments, or even adding me to their watchlists or favorites. Its a great feeling!! I have seen some absolutely amazing work on this site and am glad I decided to give it a try. I almost enjoy surfing around in peoples portfolio’s more than I do posting my pictures. Jeff

A 300gb hard drive / and lots of other speedy grunty stuff I don’t understand!! The best part? We also got a USB thingy which we could plug my old hard drive into, and so I can transfer all .. some … nearly all … of my stuff (NONE OF WHICH WAS LOST) onto the new machine.

  It is Mothers Day in the UK today…................. so I would like to wish all the hardworking Mums and even the non Mums and the Mums to be in fact all women a very Happy Mothers Day…....hang your hat up for the day, put your feet up, do a bit of bubbling, relax and let the men and the kids do the work for a change. Have a day off…......you deserve it, for all the hats you wear during the rest of the year…..... I really think it should be changed to Mothers WEEK…...... but then everything would fall apart around us. .....LOL HAVE A GREAT DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Just last weekend I decided to pack my boys in the car (the girls had school so had to stay with my sister) and head off to my father’s place in Bellingen Northern NSW. I had never been there so didn’t know what to expect. I certainly didn’t expect paradise! There were photo opportunities around every corner, there were creeks, kingfishers, jersey cows, abandoned buildings, rainforests, eagles, bats and the list goes on and on!! I took over 500 photos in just 2 days…now I have the exciting task of sorting through them all and discovering the gems! While in Bellingen I discovered a second hand bookshop…needless to say I was lost for hours! To my delight I found 2 books on photography from the late 40s and 1 on Modern Water Colour Pigments – this book has all the pigment colours hand painted in the front of the book and then they are described in detail later on. As far as I can tell the book dates back to the early 1900s. I have decided to name all the photos taken on my trip from the list of pigment colours – it should make for some interesting names! I hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as I enjoyed taking them…

  We are all so stressed just now from various causes so I thought a simple little exercise to help with this might be appropriate. I used to teach relaxation and meditation techniques and the following helps to clear your mind, centre yourself and bring a bit of peace to your soul. Light a single candle and place it at the edge of a table then sit down facing it at a distance of about two feet. Sit easily and comfortably on the chair in a relaxed state with your feet flat on the floor and your hands lying in your lap, take three deep breaths and stare at the candle flame without blinking for as long as you can. Gently close your eyes and bring the image of the candle flame onto the inside of your eyelids, remembering to breathe and to stay relaxed. The flame will be guttering and dancing about so with deep breaths and gentle concentration make the flame stand still. The object of the exercise is to empty your mind of all negativity and stress and then to control what comes into your mind instead of letting the whole world take over … remember you are in charge of you – don’t let anyone or anything control your thoughts. The whole exercise should only take about five minutes once you are practised at it which is not a lot out of the twenty-four hours in the day. Light and love Namaste Jen

  Sitting at home, just me and my samoyed Ziggy. sun is shining all is quiet, shopping done for the day. kind of wish i had taken off earlier in the day to take some photos but as its 2 pm it would take a little while to get anywhere i havent photographed already, so I’m at a loss as what to do. Relaxing in the sun in my back yard with a glass of wine sounds good, but only have the dog to talk to. I have already visited my friends Berni and Steve to check that Steve is okay after being hit by a car last sunday whilst out on his motor bike. Yes he has lots of bruises and a couple of cuts and was out of it until the ambulance arrived. He has not seen the bike or how much damage to it but will wait to hear what the insurance company says. Thank god he is alright as apparantly he got hit by a car whilst on the bike and then thrown onto the road and hit by another car. Yes his usual sense of humuor is ther so seems to be ok. Think I will head for the dandenongs tommorow and take some photos and as it will be fathers day it will be nice for me to just find a quiet spot and to reflect and remember my father who would have turn 85 a couple of weeks ago but passed away in 2005.
