Mt. Kurama as well as being a sacred site, is also a conservation area. Nature is revered as a spiritual being. The cedar groves covering the mountain are protected symbolised by the decoration adorning the sacred tree.

I’d finished my walk for the day In Derbyshire, near Ladybower resevoir. I sat under the bridge catching the sun and staring at the rocks under the water half asleep. A small patch of intensley glowing ripples catching the sunlight appeared . The dancing pattern looped around me like a fleet of unsettled birds racing. On the surface of a silky still stream. / / How could I capture this chance dance of sunlight? Trust your eyes, no tricks here. I took many shots of these glowing ripples out of delight and facination for it’s beauty. A most unexpected shot. The power of water and of sunlight with earth underneath combined into a hand The hand of Gaia.

The name Reiki, from Japanese, is usually translated into English as “universal life-force energy.” Reiki uses this universal life-force energy, rather than an individual’s personal energy, to bring healing to the whole person. It does this in harmony with the natural intelligence of the mind and body, which work together to preserve and protect health and increase well-being. Reiki may also be translated as “Spirit-guided” or “soul-guided” life force energy. Based on a Reiki design, I did a fund raiser for Hurricane Katrina, along with many other people who went to great lengths to help those in desperate need. Together we did make a difference! This was designed in Microsoft Digital Image.

the other day I did a collage of images with the fantastic Lyra pencils used at my school, over a water colour images I’ve had from TAFE (yes, about 15years ago)-finally it’s put to good use. I drew randomly, then cut the images up without looking, drew a reiki symbol on the back of each, and stuck them to small white cards. I wrote a message to each person and wouldn’t you know it-I didn’t have enough! I made over 25-but there are so many staff members I enjoyed working with, I couldn’t tell them all personally how much I appreciated their company.

Reiki means “Universal Energy” and I thought this sculpture depicted just that. Reiki is a Japanese form of complementary or alternative medicine, developed (or rediscovered) during the latter half of the 19th century. I focused and shot this sculpture at an antique store in Santa Fe, NM (the antique dealer said he had purchased it in Bali, Indonesia).

I feel a great healing energy with this series ..Japanese Reiki music .finished after midnight ....

Usui Reiki Symbol / Sei He Ki / The Emotional Symbol Sei = I point / He = the Bow, Arrow to / Ki = Life-force, Light, Awareness / / This strange symbol looks like a human head with two bumps on the places of the eighth chakra (the cosmic chakra where divinity connects with our physical existence and place of the soul akasha) and the tenth chakra (place of mystical talents and inner sight). Therefore alternative meanings of the Sei He Ki are ‘Remember Your Self’ and ‘God and humanity becoming one’. Pointing your arrow to awareness means bringing your attention to your feelings, emotions, patterns and psychology in order to understand and heal them. Sei He Ki restores emotional balance and harmony. Please understand that many diseases and problems have their roots in negative emotions and false beliefs. Celtic Triple Spiral From Wikipedia / The triple spiral or triskele is a Celtic and pre-Celtic symbol found on a number of Irish Megalithic and Neolithic sites, most notably inside the Newgrange passage tomb, on the entrance stone, and on some of the curbstones surrounding the mound. Believed by many to be an ancient symbol of pre-Celtic and Celtic beliefs, the triple spiral appears in various forms in pre-Celtic and Celtic art, with the earliest examples having been carved on pre-Celtic stone monuments, and later examples found in the Celtic Christian illuminated manuscripts of Insular art. The triple spiral was possibly the precursor to the later triskele design found in the manuscripts. What the symbol meant to the pagans who built Newgrange and other monuments is unknown. In more recent history, Celtic Christians have sometimes used it to represent the Christian Trinity. Neopagan religions such as Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism and Wicca use the symbol to represent a variety of triplicities from their belief systems. The triple spiral is one of the main symbols of Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism, often standing for the “three realms” – Land, Sea and Sky, or for one of a number of deities who are described in the lore as “threefold” or triadic.[1] The god Manannán is probably most often the one symbolized by the triskele, though some also use it for the goddess Brighid. Some Celtic-inspired Wiccans also use the triple spiral symbol, most often to represent the concept of the triple goddess.
