A quiet moment during rehearsals of The Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker
oil on panel / 11×14
This is inspired by a picture I took at one of my ballet rehearsals from backstage. Acrylic paint on canvas.
Spanish dance rehearsal, WITS Theatre, Johannesburg, South Africa
ANOTHER RELAXED STUDIO SHOOT, JUST TRIALING ONE OF MY MODELS
Oil on canvas / The original was sold. / 60×60 cm Rehearsal for the gig, tonight.
Same as Rehearsal 1, but i like this photo better. The first gives a better sense of layout. You wont get a nice full picture, cos that wouldnt be arty. The Program on the screen is Ableton Live 7 – to which I am turning to more and more frequently.
Just one more time!

During a rehearsal in Roseville, California. Shot taken with my left hand using the Nikon D80.
At the annual Gay and Lesbian Fair Day: Sydney…and the launch of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (‘unofficial’ back stage photography). I was backstage getting ready tp take some official shots of a group of young women who were performing to Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’ (dressed as red love hearts to raise awareness of same sex domestic violence). These guys were rehearsing for their number (which I ended up missing) and hey – a gay man with a camera…what more does one need? :))
/ Dress rehearsal for The Dance Factory’s end of term performance. Clocktower Theatre, Victoria. Canon 400D w/Tamron 70-200mm lens @ f2.8.
This scene takes place on a church yard, but the couple is creating more life…

(Sing to the melody of Hernando’s Hideaway) I hope someone likes this…it’s making me laugh! If you look at the “larger” image you’ll see lots of detail. / The original images were scans of little glass beads that are used for “dressing” potted plants. I couldn’t resist editing those, though, and they ended up looking like lots of grinning globs. All I could think of was the dress rehearsal for the last musical I worked on (long time ago!!): there are few things sillier than a final rehearsal for a badly-danced tango production number! Scanned on the CanoScan 8800F. Edited in PhotoshopElements 3 and Photostudio. Here’s a tiny bit of one section: / /
