I found this beautiful patch of lilies outside of the local / prison. It was ironic to see the barbed wire fence just beyond them in the distance. Made me terribly grateful to be standing at that spot-at that moment.. / / / >Featured< in United States / / / Laminated Print / / Framed Print / / /

Like all of the work I put on Redbubble. This piece took a long time to finish. I always take my time with important illustrations, especially if I want people to purchase them. The mountains alone took well over 4 hours to complete. I changed them many many times. They could’ve been an illustration by themselves cuz there’s so much detail in them. The idea behind this piece is loosely based on the fact that I never want to give up on my passions in life. Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from pursuing your life’s goals. You don’t want to look back and have regrets. They will haunt you forever….those things you told yourself you always wanted to do will become your ghosts. You cannot run away from your passion/s in life. Further more this illustration is a reminder to me. A personal mission statement built into an illustration. It is me in the illustration…something I never want to become. Drawn on A3 Copy Paper, Colored in Photoshop CS3 with Wacom Detail: /
I see a red door and I want it painted black / No colors anymore I want them to turn black / I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes / I have to turn my head until my darkness goes I see a line of cars and they’re all painted black / With flowers and my love both never to come back / I see people turn their heads and quickly look away / Like a new born baby it just happens ev’ry day I look inside myself and see my heart is black / I see my red door and it has been painted black / Maybe then I’ll fade away and not have to face the facts / It’s not easy facin’ up when your whole world is black No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue / I could not foresee this thing happening to you If I look hard enough into the settin’ sun / My love will laugh with me before the mornin’ comes I see a red door and I want it painted black / No colors anymore I want them to turn black / I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes / I have to turn my head until my darkness goes Hmm, hmm, hmm,... I wanna see it painted, painted black / Black as night, black as coal / I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky / I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black / Yeah! ~Lyrics The Rolling Stones

Acrylic On Canvas A piece that was inspired about watching Wong Kar Wai’s film In The Mood For Love, set in 60s Hong Kong. A story about forbidden love and in the story, the female and male leads shared some special moments in room 2046 – writing martial novels :D The chinese title of this movie is Hua Yang Nian Hua. The Chinese title, Huayang Nianhua (translated in the subtitles as “Full Bloom” but more accurately meaning “those wonderful varied years”), is more suggestive of period nostalgia and the Shanghai association, pointing to an iridescent, kaleidoscopic age of bygone elegance and diversity. / You can view and purchase my other “Hua Yang Nian Hua” creations from my Zazzle Gallery: / /

Time heals all wounds. Time flies when you’re having fun. Time stands still. Time waits for no one. If I could turn back the hands of Time. Frozen in Time. Timeless…. you get the idea. Well, I wanted to create a series that perhaps captured the essence of these things, in relation to human emotion. And so my Time series was born. I know in my heart what each of them means, but I did not name them anything specific, so that the viewer could make up their own mind as to the meaning of each piece. I think that is something unique to every individual. So…my heartfelt thanks for continuing to watch and support my artistic endeavors. It feeds the fire that burns and inspires. / Aimee
An image of a young man captured deep in thought. Is he thinking of how he had spent his past, and what effect it will have on his future? Only he knows. What do you think? Another piece for my photography final “Fragmented Self Image”. Dealing with the idea of shame and regret, and living with it or choosing to “wash” it away. I’m too tired to write a good description (finals just ended!), but I think this is rather self-explanatory. The goo on my face is black tempera paint, the goo from my mouth is black food colouring with corn syrup. Yum! Messiest shoot ever… PS. I got an A!
