Grand Canyon, August 2001 During the days I was there every day around 3 pm clouds would come up (or rather down into the canon) and a short shower of rain or even a quick thunderstorm would happen – bringing some needed refreshment when hiking around there. This view is from the southern rim, shortly after the end of one such rainfall, when the clouds were breaking up again. ++ Scan from slide film (Fujifilm Sensia ISO 200)

During the “Wein & Musik”-Festival in Staufen 2008 The weather was not quite as good this year as during the previous years with repeated rainfall and thunderstorms. During one particularly strong episode of rain accompanied by some lightning and thunder people quickly searched shelter under umbrellas (originally thought to be used against the sun ;) ) or in entrances or shops. + Scan from negative – Ilford HP5 ISO400
