Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Abt Railway The Mt Lyell railway ran from Queenstown to Regatta Point and was the property of the Mt Lyell Mining Company, The first section of the line from Teepookana on the King River to Queenstown was opened at the end of 1896, and in 1899 the line was extended to Regatta Point. / The line was closed in 1963 due to transport costs and maintenance, the cost of construction of this line was given at 216,000 pounds. / In 1994 the Abt Railway Society was formed by Queenstown residents and local business people who shared a vision to once more see this little train travel the 1 in 16 grade from Halls Creek to Rinadeena and from Dubbil Barril to Rinadeena on the 1 in 20 grade. / The society produced feasibility studies and worked tirelessly to bring the railway to the attention of the State and Federal Governments. So in 1999 the Federal Government announced that it would give a grant of $20.4m to rebuild the Abt Railway all the way to Regatta Point. / Operation commenced in 2002 as the Abt Wilderness Railway. / Today it is known as the West Coast Wilderness Railway. _Scanned From A photograph Taken by my Sister, who attended this beautiful event. / Edited and scanned into a 5120×3620 print. and here is the hat to wear:) designed by moi. / The Hat / Puerto Rcio Orgullo Hats and Ts at / justagal There’s no other Regatta quite like the Culebra International Regatta hosted on the offshore island of Culebra near Puerto Rico. The combination of top-notch boat racing and wonderful Caribbean-style parties with a picturesque island-paradise setting just cannot be beaten. If this sounds like your idea of a great time, make sure that you get to Puerto Rico to enjoy the 5th annual Culebra Heineken International Regatta. Puerto Rico is an island nation that deserves plenty of praise on its own merits, but it is the small offshore island of Culebra that gets all the praise during this great event. The island features ten square miles of stunning beaches and lush vegetation and it has become quite the sailboat racing hotspot in the northern Caribbean. * / The Culebra International Regatta’s various events have all been carefully planned so that shore-bound spectators can get in on as much of the action as possible. As part of the races some of the fleets will be expected to navigate their way around both Culebra and Culebrita – a small offshore island located east of Culebra – before making their way for the finish line. Even children have been included in the events, and the Culebra International Dinghy Regatta will see Optimist, Laser Radial and Laser races taking place in Ensenada Honda. _source information

During an eventful regatta at St Mary’s Loch in the lovely scottish borders a rainbow appears .. a pretty scene but one with vivid memories attached for any afloat that day with gusts touching storm force 8 capsizing most of the fleet… repeatedly..! After ten unplanned ! swims without ever reaching the start line..i cut my losses.. grabbed the camera and headed for the action from the safety of the shore.. A hint of these crisp blue sails beginning to shred in last weeks’heavy winds at t Mary’s Loch regatta in the lovely scottish borders.. This enterprise dinghy is being beautifully sailed.. tho like most of the boats that day wasn’t always this way up… :)) Olympus SP560UZ (compact)
