This tree root is on the northern periphery of our property. We’ve lived here for over 35 years, and it’s been here all that time, in exactly the same state you see it here. I marvel at its perfect heart shape and think it’s a little note from God to remind me of his undying love. I borrowed the title from the refrain of a hymn written by Father John Foley, S.J. / Here are the lyrics of that hymn: Dwelling Place / by John Foley, SJ I fall on my knees to the Father of Jesus / The Lord who has shown us, the glory of God. May He in His love give us strength for our living / The strength of His Spirit, the glory of God. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love. May grace and peace be yours in God our Father / And in His son. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love.

Blue water line at the surface
All through the ages pools, lakes, sacred wells and springs have all been invested with magical properties and believed to be the dwelling places of the gods. Water is a universal symbol for the Soul and is represented by different moods and qualities. It can be gentle like rain and as hard as ice. In this painting using wax the Water Bird has arrived, to be refreshed and to return to its real state of purity by washing away the debit of the past. Encaustic wax
It started with the words, and the rest is history…

The ‘thirst’ [first] in the Beer Garden Series. Cornish Pride. / A nice pint of ‘Tribute Bitter’, brewed in St Austell, Cornwall, and enjoyed in many pubs in Cornwall and Devon. Would make an ideal Fathers Day Card, which is approaching fast. Hope you enjoy looking at this, as much as I enjoyed drinking it. LOL Best Viewed Large.
Each year, I get a chance to visit this fabulous rookery. It is pretty busy with various birds arriving for their night of rest. The whole area seems teeming with activity. However, amongst all the activity, I found this Egret stopping by for some cool refreshment. Done in PS and Corel. Various brushes used including the Block Watercolor and Oily Blender brush. Thank you for viewing my work.

Water quenches thirst. Experiencing nature’s pure beauty refreshes the core inner being… the soul! The first signs of autumn are just beginning to peek through here. The air is becoming cooler every day and the subtle scent of fall is getting more evident in the woods. The park rangers do their very best to keep this great place as pure and unspoiled as possible, and so should we! One simple rule: If you carry anything into the woods, be sure you also carry it back out with you! Leave the forests and streams EXACTLY as you found them! Ricketts Glen is a Pennsylvania State Park, located in the north eastern region of the Keystone State. The nearest community to the park is Red Rock, situated at the junction state routes RT-118 and RT-487. A Canon EOS 10D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens was used. The lens was set to its widest focal length of 17mm. The camera’s shutter speed was 2 seconds at f/11. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release cable. Your comments are always welcome!
