All through the ages pools, lakes, sacred wells and springs have all been invested with magical properties and believed to be the dwelling places of the gods. Water is a universal symbol for the Soul and is represented by different moods and qualities. It can be gentle like rain and as hard as ice. In this painting using wax the Water Bird has arrived, to be refreshed and to return to its real state of purity by washing away the debit of the past. Encaustic wax
Fresh cherry, straw and ice in a carbonated beverage.
My dad asked me to paint seagulls on his painting, because he liked the bird I painted in the past. / Animals / Birds / Drawings / Flowers / Water / Holiday / Paintings / Sunsets / Autumn

This tree root is on the northern periphery of our property. We’ve lived here for over 35 years, and it’s been here all that time, in exactly the same state you see it here. I marvel at its perfect heart shape and think it’s a little note from God to remind me of his undying love. I borrowed the title from the refrain of a hymn written by Father John Foley, S.J. / Here are the lyrics of that hymn: Dwelling Place / by John Foley, SJ I fall on my knees to the Father of Jesus / The Lord who has shown us, the glory of God. May He in His love give us strength for our living / The strength of His Spirit, the glory of God. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love. May grace and peace be yours in God our Father / And in His son. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love.

The refreshed and “clean” image of a yellow rose after a tropical downfall
I’ve got a new toy to play with!! Finally invested in a macro lens, and having a lot of fun :) This one is (obviously) of a slice of lemon in soda water. Anyone for a drink? Canon EOS 450D. Sigma 50 mm f2.8 DG macro lens.
The first image for 2009. This year I’ll think outside the square more often, leave my comfort zone behind and continue on my creative journey. I was daydreaming about this image – my Christmas dress and the pool – before taking it…how would the soft sheer fabric flow along the ripples of the cool blue water, and the only way to know is it immerse yourself and try it. When a family member asked what on earth I was doing, I replied “Being silly” without any hesitation. And that’s another thing I’ll do a lot more of this year – be silly – and not worry about stuff. And isn’t that a refreshing way to start the year.
Cobblers Beach, Middle Head, Sydney.
Very little remains now, of the once thriving Spa industry at Clifton Springs of the 1870’s, when people used to travel by ship to the now derelict pier in the background and bath in and bottle the natural mineral spring waters that were in abundant supply, at the water’s edge.
My husband, youngest son (now, almost 33) and I decided we needed to breath some fresh air for a change so we went for a drive today up to Nora Lake…this is a manmade lake (the size of a large pond) just outside of Shingletown in North Eastern CA…..(just a little above 3,000 foot elevation)....the sky was actually blue! That was a real treat and we could take deep breaths…..it was wonderful…...and to top it off we had fresh Trout for dinner! I hope you enjoy this image…I shot this one just before we left….the later in the day, the better the color and reflections….this is 100% unedited…right out of the camera…..........enjoy! / / / _____ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission.
