This is my entry for the comp in the Alien Worlds/Landscapes group. / The challenge, using the mountains and water provided by AV ...add the sky to make it an alien world landscape. / work details- / layering, ripple effects on reflection, warping, moving, white spacey bits done with ps brushset source , stars, colours airbrushed, planets colour overlays, burning n dodging, planet pics courtesy of public domain nasa images, and of course, the mountains and water bit supplied by AV. Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, ISO100, shutter speed 1/5 to 1 seconds, edited in Photomatix tweaked in Photoshop Once a single lake, Buttermere and Crummock Water are now separated by a green and fertile plain which is in marked contrast to the steep fell sides and tumbling waterfalls. Buttermere lake, set in its amphitheatre of mountains, is a tranquil scene, made more dramatic by the play of light and shade in the narrow valley. The low level walk round the lake is a delight, especially if it begins and ends in the hamlet of Buttermere itself,

This was taken inside the Westfield Shopping Centre in London 18/03/2009. I have always been into photography but didn’t get real serious about it until I went to the largest urban area indoor shopping centre in Europe. / I fell in love with the architect, and even the security guard stoped me twice, I took many photos. :0))) / I have learned a lot about composition, lighting and the multitude of other aspects to creat better photos. However, I suspect I will forever be on a learning curve. / It’s a pleasure to share my viewpoint of architect as seen thruogh the lens of my camera.

PORTMEIRION is an Italianate resort village in Gwynedd, on the coast of Snowdonia in Wales. The village is located near Penrhyndeudraeth, on the estuary of the River Dwyryd, two miles southeast of Porthmadog, and one mile from the railway station at Minffordd, which serves both the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway and Arriva Trains Wales (Cambrian Line). / Portmeirion has served as a location for films and television shows, most famously serving as The Village in The Prisoner. / THE PRISONER is a 17-episode, British television series which was first broadcast in London from the 1st of October 1967 to the 4th of February 1968. Starring and co-created by Patrick McGoohan, it combined spy fiction with elements of science fiction, allegory, and psychological drama. / The series follows a British former secret agent who is held prisoner in a mysterious seaside village where his captors try to find out why he abruptly resigned from his job. Although sold as a thriller in the mould of McGoohan’s previous series, Danger Man (called Secret Agent in its U.S. release), the show’s combination of 1960s countercultural themes and surreal setting had a far-reaching effect on science fiction/fantasy programming, and on popular culture in general.
