This image was taken on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the Amex Building in New York. People were drawn to the view of the rebuilding of Ground Zero and were speaking so softly. Concurrent to the silent viewing is the incredible acitivity of rebuilding taking place in the area itself. Originally the glass wall seen here was opaque (marble, i think) but when the repairs were made to the building the marble was removed so that people could view Ground Zero. Shot taken with my little digital camera that i have since lost!

Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08(spring in Canada). Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over. Found this lurking in a hard drive. Taken from the Eureka tower last year just before they banned cameras in ‘The Edge’ – a glass ‘box’ that extends out from the top floor and hangs over the city 92 floors below. This image was taken through the floor of ‘The Edge’. I adjusted the levels aggressively and burned the reflections of the people to make them stand out more. /

The defensive Tower house of Smailholm, just over the Scottish border, near Kelso. The tower was built in the mid 1400’s at a time when lawlessness and violent bands of reivers, ravaged the lands both sides of the English-Scottish border. And a solitary white swan, resides below the Tower Even today, the landscape is lonely, and you can easily imagine the starkness of those dark days. Dreary dull, grey, original digital photograph. / Lots of photoshop layers and borrowed sunset from my bonny Northumberland, Budle Bay photo. Inversion and refining with digital painting….. it would have been easier to conventionally paint this!!

This is a friends loft I stay in sometimes when I visit St. Louis… I stay in the red side 2nd floor from the bottom.. .. The yellow one is the neighbors place… Each connected building stands 6 stories tall. Shot thru my window and some distorted broken bubble glass one day playing around with my close up lens.. Saint Mary’s Lake is in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. I believe I was rather lucky to get such a calm day as I witnessed here, since I was told that for quite some weeks they had been experiencing unusually bad weather for the time of year ! Glacier is an amazing place, with its primeval mountain shapes, and abundant wildlife, lakes and waterfalls, and many good trails. I was hearing the Elk bugling across the lake as I shot. I would recommend this magic place to anyone ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, mounted on tripod, polarising filter, f22, 1/30 sec, iso 100, auto WB, Raw file, processed in Adobe CS3, selective levels/curves and selective colour adjustments. We really don’t get much snow on the West Coast of Scotland, because of the influence of the Gulf Stream, and on the rare occasion it does fall, it is soon gone!! / Beinn Bhan is one of the peaks of the Applecross range, seen here from near Ardarroch, Loch Kishorn, on a gorgeous Winter’s afternoon. just as the sun was going down…at around 3.30pm !!
