  • I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(

  • Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!

  • This is for the HDIR group challenge. The original image is infrared. Taken on my old FujiFilm FinePix with an R72 filter attached. I used Topaz Adjust to get the HDR effect on the leaves of the tree. The challenge stipulates a reflection….so I made one ..(I hope) by inverting the original image and adding some motion blur and altering the perspective. Then I added a layer of texture ..I felt it just needed something else to finish it off. Oh, and the title comes from a band called “LIVE” from their CD “Mental Jewelry” It’s playing at the moment on my computer and I thought it was appropriate.

  • The original photograph was of a dozen roses. After painstakingly removing all but the single rose in Photoshop, I applied several gradients and filters to achieve this final effect. • I have been attempting to learn the processes involved in adding layers and textures to images. Most have been not suitable for posting. Here goes – this is my first which I am happy to share, and for which, comments would be appreciated. PLEASE VIEW LARGER The original image was shot in 2007 using a Canon 400D, Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM Lens, ISO 100, 1/60sec, f22. In addition to the adjustments of Levels, Curves and Saturation I have added 3 different Textures at varying levels of Fill and Opacity with some final ‘tweaking’. All undertaken in CS3. The Chateau is Chateau de Montbrun in Haute Vienne, France. When I took the original image the Chateau was for sale at €9m!
