  • Dusk and a storm coming at the back of St Kilda Pier (Victoria).

  • It was a wild, wet and wooley day on the 8th July 2008 at Port Vincent, on Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. After the storm had passed, the wind calmed down and the reflection in the water showed “the calm after the storm” just before sunset.

  • A view from Charlestown Harbour Cornwall UK. I captured this image looking out to the cliffs from the harbour walls. The break in the clouds provided a wonderful warm light on the rocks and a beautiful reflection on the surface of the water. Camera Nikon D40x with 18-55mm Lense. /

  • One of those fleeting moments after the storm when the heavens open just as the sun sets on the day.

  • A night scene of Darling Harbour with lightning added in Photoshop / Sydney, Australia

  • South Pine River / Location: Bald Hills, Queensland, Australia. / Date: 20th May 2009. The South Pine River, as seen from Bald Hills, following rain falls that caused flooding in Brisbane and surrounding areas. / A break in the tumultuous clouds appeared late in the afternoon, which signaled the end of a downpour, that was later reported to have caused the worst flooding for Brisbane in more than 20 years. This scene appeared beautiful and surreal, in contrast to the destruction and disruption that was visible and continuing throughout the surrounding areas. During normal weather conditions, the South Pine River is not easily visible from the location this photo was taken. The flood water at this point of the river, has expanded up to one kilometer from the regular path of the river. Photographic details: / Canon EOS 40D / 50mm, 1/10sec, F8, ISO400. • I was out storm chasing again last night, But missed the lightning show. I didn’t want the night to be a complete waste of time, So I decided to do a mini night shoot despite the rain and strong winds. Once again, I returned home soaked. LOL I managed to get a few shots at Burswood Casino last night after my South Perth shoot got rained out. I didn’t spend much time here either because of the rain, And police patrol that stopped to see what I was up to just after I finished this panorama series. After that, I decided to pack up and head home, And just as I got back to the car, It started to hail. EOS 500D.

  • Here is another one with a striking bolt:

  • We had the worst storms in Toronto’s history last night…08/20/2009…the sky went so many different colors as the storm went through it’s phases. We actually had multiple funnel clouds and tornados hit ground. Was quite awesome!

  • Set off for a photo tour and hike through the Höllentalklamm (a fascinating creek not far from Garmisch) in the German Alps but after days of sunny early summer weather, storms raged overnight and all morning. So drove back to Munich via Lake Walchen, one of my favourites, getting there as the rain gradually stopped. Music – Storm is Over, by R. Kelly ...Storm is Over, I Can See The Light, Won’t You Come and Set Me Free Location: Lake Walchen, Bavaria, Germany. / Nikon D70, Sigma 18-200mm. f/11, 1/100s, 18mm. / Post-pro in Photoshop CS2 & CS4, removal of dust specs.
