  • I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(

  • Eilean Donan Castle one of the Iconic Scottish Castles was just a magic place to visit and photograph. I spent close to 9 hours taking in the surrounds, the atmosphere and the serenity and of course the odd photo or two. I hope I haven’t worn out my welcome but it was one of the most photogenic locations we visited to here is another one. All money raised in the sale of my art until November goes towards the Steven T. Hill Stroke Foundation. • In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. I particularly like the fact that compared to a lot of fog shots it displays color, to I think, an advantage and shows the promise of a beautiful sunny summer day emerging… Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens Featured in the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten placement in the Summer challenge for the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten Placement in the Nikon D40 Users, Masterpiece challenge, September 2009 / Featured in the Nikon D40 Users group, July 2009 / Top Ten in the Journey or Destination challenge for the First Things group, July 2009 / Featured in the Outsiders, March 2009 / Featured in Canada: The Great White North group September 2008 / Featured in the Nirvana group September 2008 / Avatar for Shots In The Fog group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the 100% group. • O city, city To live between terms, to live where death has his loud picture in the subway ride, Being amid six million souls, their breath An empty song suppressed on every side, Where the sliding auto’s catastrophe Is a gust past the curb, where numb and high The office building rises to its tyranny, Is our anguished diminution until we die. Whence, if ever, shall come the actuality Of a voice speaking the mind’s knowing, The sunlight bright on the green windowshade, And the self articulate, affectionate, and flowing, Ease, warmth, light, the utter showing, When in the white bed all things are made. Delmore Schwartz Acrylic and mixed media on Canvas / 92cm x 61cm / Sept 2008

  • The lupine in parts of Grand Teton National Park are quite extraordinary at just the right time of year. This little pond is ephemeral, and is the perfect mirror for sunrise over the Tetons. • Well at least it would be if I had my way, living in Glenmaggie and just spending the majority of my time photographing its beauty. But anyway, yes it was shot at Lake Glenmaggie, Victoria. Shot with a Nikon D200, 12-24mm lens at 15mm, F/11, 100 ISO. 4 shot HDR, merged/mapped in Photomatix, touched up in Photoshop. I saw these reflections and ran for the camera. Sydney Harbour like a mill pond before the many vessels start their morning trips and disturbing it’s surface. The other factor is that look to the water surface that landscape photographers might know it’s like a oily look to the water that lends itself to wonderful reflective surface. It took many shots of Sydney Harbour this morning, if, and you should have seen the sunrise that followed . WAIT ! yes i have photos of that as well. Equipment: Manfrotto Tripod, Nikon D300 Nikon 18-200mm Lens / Technique: 5 Bracketted Exposures, Photomatix 3.2, Capure NX Sydney is the capital of the state of New South Wales in Australia / See Also / Right Place Right Time:
