Shree thanks for the lovely painting of twin sisters!! Fantastic Faces is really awesome piece of art!!_ Well this is a moment of two sisters waiting desperately together for their dream lover, person of their life who is going to come today to see them after lot of hype which was created by family and friends about the man who is so handsome, so charming and so good looking, but now here the situation is he has to select only one girl where both of them are twins. My try was to show the expression of dreaming & waiting and being impatient about their future life partner which is as of now uncertain as to who will he select for marriage. I also wanted to show their love, bond, respect, intimacy, curiosity, closeness, affection, feeling of insecurity, and a sense of weirdness, impatience and all sorts of weird thoughts going on specially in their minds as bothy of them desperately wants that he should select her hence both of them wore the same kind of wardrobe to impress as well as make even difficult for their dream person to decide who is best and whom to choose.

  • The Blind Demise
    by Symmetry44

One spirit drifts / amid unlit darkness / seeks to spite / its own destined demise

The importance of intricacy is paramount here as I’ve tried to combine the rhythmic aspect of poetry with an otherwise non-rhythmic style. The non-fluid movement throughout this piece is meant to parallel that of life, as are the spaces and breaks between lines in its non-linear form. This particular poem has fleeting cadence indeed in that, as it flows with rhyme in some areas, so too acquiesces to its own fleeting device, as was intended. Life is a sequence of eternally fleeting events—so too circumstance and death to undo any such fluidity; Hence the nature and construction of this piece…for there can be no certain flow amid the furtive nature of what lies beyond this plain of life…... For the spirit which passes one must wonder if it as well is aware of such passing. And so we in its stead, as too we in its wake, sit fleetingly forever in wonderment of what lies beyond this realm, and of what fate has been procured in light of our own and of that of such passing…... For do those who pass beyond uphold the certainty of their own demise and of our continuation within and of this life? And so who is rendered blind—He who passes or he who remains in demise’s wake?

  • I live
    by Symmetry44

I live for a right melody that compels me along / unto its next unknown and random verse / through my eternally longing heart

I used to believe that real men never cry. That however has since been dispelled by life and love. / Bet your bottom dollar that as I constructed this piece that more than a few tears were shed as I recall my life. / To surmise the purpose for which we live can move us to live all the more….and so it is that I surmise… / In its simplicity I hope this poem connects to the far reaching complexities of life…

The grief never ends…. / Psalm 42 / 1 As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me continually, “Where is your God?” 4 These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I went with the throng, F78 and led them in procession to the house of God, with glad shouts and songs of thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help 6 and my God. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. 7 Deep calls to deep at the thunder of your cataracts; all your waves and your billows have gone over me. 8 By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. 9 I say to God, my rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk about mournfully because the enemy oppresses me?” 10 As with a deadly wound in my body, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me continually, “Where is your God?” 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God.

  • Ching-a-di-ching Gramps
    by Symmetry44

Now, antiquity reminds me of my own / and the potential for legacy I might leave behind / in Gramps timeless yet invisible wake

Upon having read a couple of well respected Redbubble friend’s writings (Lisa and Leon) I got to thinking and reflecting upon a couple of former memories that had left an indelible mark upon me. / Hence I decided to write this piece about my grand father. Funny the emotions come flooding back from 40 years ago and leave you feeling as though you’d only just lost the one you love. / I always remember Gramps handing out change to us every time he was around. And I also remember how it seemed he had lost his ability to talk for some reason. / I suppose it was a stroke or something. I’ll have to ask mom about that one in any regard. / This is sort of a poem within a poem as you’ll see by the poem at the end. I hope you enjoy one of my fondest childhood memories of Gramps…..

In her last email, Suzanne asked us to reflect on somethng and write about it. / / On the 22nd August, this year, an 11 year old boy, Rhys Jones, was shot dead in a Liverpool playground. His killer was thought to be 15 or 16 years old. / / This poem is a reflection upon a society which has, through judical incompetence, been allowed to degenerate to the point where the Police and the general public seem impotent, in the face of appaling casual, and increasing gang, violence. / / The words came to me this morning as I lay in bed with, for some reason, the childrens’ poem, ‘Roses are red, violets are blue’ going through my head. / / © photogenique (dave peddie): using this poem, or any part thereof, for any purpose and in any way, without prior permission, may lead to legal action. / / Do check out brummieboy’s writing and art portfolios /

  • Reflection on loss
    by Leoni Venter

For everyone there is a time / And a purpose and a place / You’ve left me now, far behind / Stepped out of the frantic race

I wrote this for a friend of mine who lost someone dear to her. Or I wrote it for a character in a book I read that died. Or I wrote it for Anita Mui (Hong Kong Actress) who died young. Or I wrote it for a character in a game I played. I wrote it for myself. Or I wrote it for you. I find it has universal relevance.
