My first ever post to redbubble!! A really lucky capture of Loch Voil near Balquidder (Rob Roy country) in Scotland. Combination of two photos…... For anyone who might be offended from this photo and the resemblance of 911 that was never my intent nor thought until a few people mentioned it. My thought behind this photo was simply to make the plane look as if it was landing between the 2 buildings. / The two building are in Irvine, CA close where my husband and I love to have Sunday brunch. One morning I brought my camera with us so we could go out taking pictures after wards. These builds are grouped together next door, after brunch I walked over and started photography these buildings looking up at them and getting many different views as you can see from the attached photos to “Flying Through The Key Hole” / From there we went over to John Wayne’s Airport which is only a few miles from where the buildings were shot. “For those who are not filmier with John Wayne Airport it is just a small airport in Orange County, CA.” I was able to park in their small parking lot and get a perfect view of the planes landing right over my head. The plane shot with a Nikon AF 18 – 70 mm lens, and the plane shot was not cropped but used in its entirety. The sky was very bare that and not very blue. But loving the way the plane came out I really wanted to use it, so having the building shots in the same group as the planes that day, I started playing around by removing the back ground from the plane and placing the plane elsewhere. The two buildings I used happen to be my favorite from that day, so when adding it to that shot I thought it looked as if the plane was coming in for a landing between the two tall buildings. I liked the finished product so that is where it got its name “Flying Through The Key Hole” As for the reflection on the plane that appears to be from the buildings, I believe it is either from the concrete below or it was a reflection from the sky and maybe even blue that was already on the plane. But truly your guess is as good as mine, all I know is it worked out perfectly. So again I apologize to anyone who might be offended by this shot and any resemblance it may have to 911 that was not my intent.

I went over to my former home town of Totnes in South Devon UK.,this morning having checked that high tide was at 09,56 and all was still with the River Dart like a mirror and beautiful lateral warm light. A similar scene to my earlier Reflections of the Past image that was taken with my trusty old Nikon D100. Still getting accustomed to all the features on my recently purchased Nikon D300 but was more than pleased with the results of the images I took this morning, this one having little editing, just a slight perspective crop and a little sharpening. TAKEN AROUND THE MIDDLE OF DECEMBER 2008 WHEN VENICE FLOODED QUITE SEVERELY UP TO AROUND KNEE HEIGHT ALL THROUGH ST MARK’S SQUARE . THE WHOLE PLACE WAS LIKE A SWIMMING POOL!!! IT WAS SO COLD AND TOURISTS HAD NO WHERE TO GO BUT USING THE WOODEN PLATFORM WALKWAYS. IT WAS REALLY SURREAL. THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN THE AFTERNOON WHEN ALOT OF THE TOURISTS HAD GONE. /

“Floating on Clouds” was shot in Goulds Newfoundland Canada. This is The Dory in natural light. I was talking to a friend about shooting “The Dory” and “Floating on Clouds” and how I used a polarizer to bring out the clouds on the water (as seen here) and removed it and used a flash to shoot “The Dory”. I was wondering in hindsight what I would have come up with if I had used the polarizer and flash at the same time. I know I would have given up about up to two stops with the filter which would have meant a slower shutter speed and the boat was moving, ever so slightly, so it may not have worked out? But maybe next time, live and learn! Sometimes, just sometimes reality can exceed all your expectations. The day had been a complete washout with a horrendous storm that seemed to go on forever. Then, just before sunset the storm broke to create one of the most colourful and amazing sunsets I have ever seen. Turned out I was in a great locations as well. Shot on the banks of Derwent Water near Keswick in the English Lake District. Finalist in the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2007
