Someone told me there is this great little place called Red Rock just north of Coffs Harbour. I was determined to visit while on holidays there. I think I got there just a little late. Managed to get this before the sun disappeared all too quickly…. Constant down pours for more than a week have produced some amazing sights around Uluru. Usually bone dry sand and dust is transformed into a tropical garden if only for a short time. Uluru, Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park / Northern Territory / Australia

A reflected sunset amongst Kings Rocks Stanley NW Tasmania. The rocks supplying pools for sealife to live well above the high tide level, and the rough seas replenish the water often enough to keep them alive. The brilliant colors here drove me crazy! I could not have been at a more perfect sunset. This is straight from my Nikon D90…no retouching of anykind no color enhancements at all! /
The radiance of the sunrise is reflected on the clouds and in some of the many rock pools located on the coastline, along The Great Ocean Road. Rota Island / Northern Mariana Islands Here you will find palm fringed beaches with virtually no one around, unbelievable diving, pristine waters and incredible volcanic formations. Located along the Marianas Trench which is the deepest known part of the world’s oceans, and the deepest location on the surface of the Earth’s crust. / The trench is about 2,550 kilometres (1,580 mi) long but has a mean width of only 69 kilometres (43 mi). It reaches a maximum depth of about 11,034 metres (36,200 ft) at the Challenger Deep, a small slot-shaped valley in its floor, at its southern end. Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain.
