This was taken in the late winter in Ann Arbor Michigan at Lille Park. Corner of Ellsworth and Platt.
We have had freezing rain and all of the branches are covered with ice, it looks so pretty but it can be dangerous if the ice gets too heavy. It’s been raining for hours now and as the temperature drops the ice might get thicker but my kids don’t mind….....it was a snow day today :) P.S. I keep having problems with my computer….we are down to sharing one until we figure out what’s wrong with the netgear. see ya on and off :)
Wind sculpted ice forms built by spray and subzero weather on West Traverse Bay, Michigan, USA. Looks like the court of the Ice Queen regally dancing. /
. / One cold foggy winters day in beautiful New Zealand The milky colour of the water of Sulphur Bay is caused by particles of sulphur being suspended in the water. This sulphur has been produced by hydrogen sulphide gas rising from the lake. / The smells of Sulphur Bay and Lake Rotorua are from sulphurous gases belched from the depths of the Earth and resemble rotten eggs !! / Steam and gases can be heard bubbling and roaring to the surface through vents and pools :)) WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

This is Bassenthwaite Lake in Cumbria. Taken after several days of rain and floods, which has raised the lake levels to flood the shoreline. This is a rare moment of reflection on this lake, especially this late in the morning. The winter sun almost made this bush look on fire Shot in the Lake District

(AS IS, Finepix F31fd) / Actually, it’s the Horse Guard’s Parade, as viewed from the Buckingham Palace side of St. James’s Park (the oldest Royal Park in London). The park itself is a haven for many species of birds (and of course, a great number of grey squirrels). Going for a walk at lunchtime around the lake, it’s hard to believe that you are only a few minutes’ stroll away from the Houses of Parliament and if you wave towards Buckingham Palace, Her Majesty might see you. The park’s history can be found on the Royal Parks site and more about the Horse Guards Parade, here is the British History Online entry (for those short on time, I recommend the shorter Wikipedia entry). / The photo won the ‘A slice of Heaven’ challenge on the 13th Oct 2009. / /
