  • Reflective, calm and peaceful. A walk through Adelaide on a balmy summer’s evening along the Torrens, looking at public art and feeling completely at home. To have a camera there to capture a small portion of that feeling and take it home is what it is all about. / Talking Our Way Home sculpture by Shaun Kirby

  • A triptych of the passing storm over the Southern Yorke Peninsula on 17th May 2007. Taken approximately 2 kilometres south west of Yorketown alongside Boothill Station Road. This is another shot taken on the same day about 2 km to the north of this compilation…

  • Sunset with Marabou Storks – South Luangwa River, Zambia

  • This was taken at a dam in Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills, Australia in winter at dawn. We don’t get any snow in Adelaide, as our summers are very hot. There is still some fog around on the water. This is pure bliss to me. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, on a tripod. This was taken because of the mood created with the fog, the winter sunlight lighting up the boat and the 3 waterfowl swimming in the opposite direction to the boat.

  • A giant River Red Gum dead on the banks of the River Murray near Lyrup South Australia. A favorite spot to visit but a strong reminder of the fragile nature of our world and how very much we need to protect this river and its environs… HDR conversion of a Blue Sky day!

  • These autumn colours and reflections were taken at Oakbank, Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia, in autumn (obviously). I used a Canon DSLR EOS 350D on a tripod. This is an HDR shot. I used 3 shots merged together with Photomatix Pro. This was details enhanced.

  • Last light looking across the mighty Murray River at Mannum, South Australia. A magnificent stretch of the River, and yes still with plenty of water for tourists and photographers…..

  • Image taken on the Murray River between Younghusband and Mannum ferries South Australia. The last from my most recent trip to Mannum. The sky was unbelievable and just so powerful. This seems to have worked much better in B&W given the colours of the night. Thanks again to Dave from the Mannum Motel for sharing this place with his son and I. Many thanks to those who pointed out the dogs face in the lower half of the image. Now I cant look without seeing it. By the way its naturally occurring no photoshop magic here.

  • This is the colour version of the HDR sunset shot at Mannum that has come up with an amazing dogs face in the lower left portion of the image. Shot taken between Mannum and Young Husband near the Marina. No photoshop manipulation the dogs face just appeared. Dave from mannum was with me that night shooting just a little to my right and the face didn’t appear in his images. Canon 400D polarising filter – 18- 55 lens HDR and converted in Photomatix…

  • River Torrens, Adelaide. / South Australia. / Sculpture by Shaun Kirby.

  • Another image from the late night shoot near Mannum South Australia. Just love the River Murray and the starkness of the willow trees lining the banks in this spot create wonderful silhouettes at last light. Thanks to Dave and River Rat from Mannum (mannum Motel) for their support in joining me on these repeat visits to this magical little strip of the river. Canon 400D, CIR polarising filter. 18-55 lens.
