This is the man behind the camera. You can’t have pretty subjects all the time, life is not perfect.
Me taking a photo of me and my Canon 300D in my Subaru wagon’s mirror at Apollo Bay earlier this year. Hoping to get a Canon 40D in the next couple of months after Kevin gives me my tax back! As you can see I was/am a big fan of Lance Armstrong and watched all of his 7 tour wins unfold late at night. My tip for this year’s tour is Cadel, who else? Colour was desaturated in Lightroom and then desaturated the remaining yellow parts in Photoshop, enjoy!
A piece about self-esteem. / What do you really see when you look in the mirror.Do you see who you really are?
photo of reflections in a brook
11”x14” Oil on Canvas. Painted from memory of historic downtown Pensacola, FL USA one rainy evening.
I am a creature of the night, pounding on my Pc while alot of others om my continent are sleeping .Hmmm a question of self control. Laura Brannigan The building in all their majesty bathed in moonlight and in the lake, all is still, all is quite. But inside life is seething and untold adventures unwinding. Fractal made in chaosscope, postedits in Paint.net,photofiltre and photoshop. Oh, the night is my world / City light painted girl / In the day nothing matters / It’s the night time that flatters / In the night, no control / Through the wall something’s breaking / Wearing white as you’re walking / Down the street of my soul (You take my self) you take my self control / You got me livin’ only for the night / Before the morning comes, the story’s told / (You take my self) you take my self control Another night, another day goes by / I never stop myself to wonder why / You help me to forget to play my role / You take my self, you take my self control (I) I live among the creatures of the night / I haven’t got the will to try and fight / Against a new tomorrow / So I guess I’ll just believe it / That tomorrow never comes A safe flight / (You take myself, you take my self control) / I’m living in the forest of my dream / (You take myself, you take my self control) / I know the night is not as it would seem / (You take myself, you take my self control) / I must believe in something / (You take myself, you take my self control) / So I’ll make myself believe it / (You take myself, you take my self control) / That this night will never go (Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh) Oh, the night is my world / City light painted girl / In the day nothing matters / It’s the night time that flatters (I) I live among the creatures of the night / I haven’t got the will to try and fight / Against a new tomorrow / So I guess I’ll just believe it / That tomorrow never knows A safe flight / (You take myself, you take my self control) / I’m living in the forest of my dream / (You take myself, you take my self control) / I know the night is not as it would seem / (You take myself, you take my self control) / I must believe in something / (You take myself, you take my self control) / So I’ll make myself believe it / (You take myself, you take my self control) / This night will never go (Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh) You take my self / (Oh-oh-oh) / You take my self control / (Oh-oh-oh) / You take my self / (Oh-oh-oh) / You take my self control /
This was me… twelve months ago. I have come a long way in my journey since these dark days. Sometimes it is nice to remind my own self of my achievements and progress, by looking back at old images (that have remained hidden on RedBubble for a while now!). Self-Portrait. Uluru, 2008. (Text updated and original poem removed June 2009)

I photographed my very first eagles on this New Year’s Day 2009; this one was in Amelia, Louisiana, in St. Mary’s Parish. I thought the quote by Benjamin Franklin was an appropriate one to sum up my adventures this day and my hopes for the new year. Happy New Year to all!

_Blue Heron…Thank you, Sacred Waterbird, / for sending reflections to me; / The mirrors of the quest for life, / The words that live inside of me. Show me how relationships work, / With my path woven within the whole, / The lessons of kinship with all life, / Reflecting my spirit’s eternal goal. Jamie Sams_ The medicine of Blue Heron is self-reflection, and asks if you are willing to dive into the watery depths of your own feelings and discover the role of your spiritual essence? Heron is now calling you to delve deeper, to know yourself, and to trust your path. Like the Phoenix, who rises from its own ashes, Heron emerges from the unseen worlds of spirit into a new balanced sense-of-self in order to ebrace its potential again and again. / The magnificence of your human spirit lies waiting for the joy of discovery, if you are courageous enough to follow the Waterbird throughout the journey. Heron reminds you that every traveler on life’s journey is a messenger, and that every destination is the beginning of a new life cycle on the Medicine Wheel. Reflections Photograph taken at Wind River Ranch, as is, while speaking to my sister/friend Judi Taylor ~ love ya lots sis ;) xoxox ♥
“Come to the window… / I can see myself more clearly, / here…” A Valkyrie goddess – / gold and pink, / with the heart of a dying child; ...
A poem dedicated to my beautiful, Goddess of a mother who died tragically when she was young (26) , long story, and all she taught me of life through her tragic death and sacrifice. This is a poem written from her perspective in italics, her words to me…at least, those are the things she taught me… I love you, Mum. :)
Yes. It’s a play on words. And, yet… it really is something I suffer from and struggle with. I know I’m not alone. And, well, our art is often an expression of the emotions and experiences we know best. This is a follow on piece from Shame / Anywho… self-portrait, highly fiddled around with (there’s that technical term again) in photoshop.
When a mirror, just gives too much away… ;-) Shot using street lights on the beach. “As Is” [Sony a350, Sigma 17-70@17mm, f:3.5, 5 sec, ISO-100]
