These hussars were hanging effortlessly in a strong current. I had to swim like crazy to stay in the same place and wait for them to shift their formation to get a good composition. I love the way this image looks so serene and still, yet all I can remember is how fast I was breathing and how hard I was swimming!
The coral trout is a prized eating delicacy in seafood restaurants all over the world. This one is in its natural environment on a coral reef. I love the electric blue spots and red camouflage patterns on these guys. Tuely on of the most spectacular species to be seen on the coral reef.

I found this two Bigfin Reef Squid at the end of a macro dive around the mooring line. After they got a bit more confident, they were starting to pose for the camera and with a bit of luck I got them both framed within the macro lens. Framing suggestion: / © aabz-imaging / ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

A small dumpling squid emerges from its hiding place in the sand at night. They are onlyabout 6-8cm long but I really enjoy the opal-like colours that you get in this species. They certainly make a wonderful macro subject for the under water photographer. Shot on a recent dive off the Blairgowerie Marina, on the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne
