Thank you Sally…..I am honoured to have your words next to my picture xxx Redemption (written by Sally Omar) Cast in the shadows / Found her way in / No way out / Filled with sin Sobbing for help / Being pulled into hell / Nowhere to go / No one to tell Not knowing what to do / Selfish desires / Filled with deceit / Burning fires Uncontrolled fear / Sorrow abounds / Asked forgiveness / Help found Out of the depths / Brought into the sun / Arms surround her / Found REDEMPTION

  • Saved by Sally Omar (another gem by Sal….thank you so much xx) SAVED from the stench of hell’s fire / SAVED and brought into flight / SAVED and give redemption / SAVED and brought to the light An Angel waiting in the Heavens / Ready to grab your hand / The Angels sang in a chorus / While the cherubs played in the band Welcoming you into Heaven / Your tears while being dropped in the fires / Sorrowful for your sins / Those of lustful desire Having been forgiven / And given a chance at peace / And there waiting at the table / Is a welcoming feast No more fear of burning / Out of the reach of hell / Into the hands of Heaven / Out of the devil’s spell The fires of Hades / Are now far beyond / Now you are at peace / And fear is now gone You said “I’m sorry” / And were forgiven / That is the reason / Why you are now in Heaven

  • This piece is about the redemption of sinners through the blood shed by Jesus Christ. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. ~Ephesians 1:7 Stock Credits: / here

  • One day he is driving his truck along a straight-run route in Florida on his way to another gig. It’s a typical kind of South Florida afternoon; high clouds, low smog, and the sun’s shape-shifting glint of chrome and glass against the steady line of cloned storefront windows. He’s listening to new tunes he wants to perform that evening, mostly 70’s rock and roll with some newer stuff to amuse the younger crowd. That’s what it’s all about. Performance. Getting back and forth between gigs. The calculation of mileage on the tires and transmission is a sum that equals the lies that are starting to show on his face. He clears his throat, thinks about the girl he’s leaving behind. Wonders if she’s just another mistake. He sneezes. He coughs. Coughs again. Something’s wrong. / Very wrong. / His eyes are tearing so badly that he can no longer see the road ahead or make out the traffic that’s beginning to build on that Friday afternoon. Veering off to the side of the road, he slams the truck into park, ignoring the lurch of his equipment that is stowed away in the back of the 18 foot trailer he has hauled behind for the last 20 years. He can’t breathe. Next stop, a doctor’s office, and some tests. / “You have cancer. Throat cancer.” / Just like that. / He is not expected to live. / He curses God, the gods, second hand smoke, since he had never dragged on a cigarette in his life. He detests cancer. He detests his soon to be ex wife. His girlfriend. His girlfriends. His lot in life. / He suffers through radiation treatments. Alone. He sells off his equipment and favorite guitars, one by one to pay the bills, until he is left nearly penniless, and 120 pounds lighter, and heavier in the heart than he thought he could bear. “You will never speak again,” is the newest medical opinion. But he does. / “You will never sing again,” they proclaim. But he does. And some might say, better than before. A long, irregular scar creases the right side of his neck. It is six inches of reminder that life cuts and jabs. That life is precious. That life is all there is. / But not to him. / No. / His daughter died in a car wreck two years later, just three weeks after her marriage. / He mourns her terribly- Curses God, the gods, yet again, wondering why she was not spared when the elderly woman in the other car got away with a minor bruise. He doesn’t want to talk about the fact that his daughter fell asleep at the wheel on her way to work that morning. He doesn’t want to think about her body lying in a grave without a stone. He just wants to think about Life handing him a shitty deal. He wants to believe that God is something abstract, and owes you something. / But it’s a convenient tool for the One Man Show. He joins a church and becomes the Music Minister. He preaches about his near death and sings songs of praise that never reach his heart, even as they reach the ears of the unsuspecting. So maybe he had it tough earlier on in his life, when his dad ran off with a fellow band member. Maybe it was hard to be the eldest of so many children in a house with chickens running wild in the backyard and a mother that slept with more men than he can recall the faces of. / Maybe it was hard to come in second place in the then American Idol type television show, ‘Star Search’. Didn’t he deserve first place and to be something other than what he really was? It’s all about the gig, the fame, and the adoring gazes of women in the crowd. It’s all about the sense of motion and forgetting, and being something, anything, other than the skinny Puerto Rican kid from Long Island, that bashed on the bass drum in the High School marching band, and tried to catch a kiss from me under the bandstand. / It’s easy to lie to people when you don’t know the truth, because you have repeated the same rap so often, for almost 50 years and the truth is all a hazy blur. / It’s easy to blame God, gods, for the way you’re stuck in first gear, or when with your last 50 bucks in your pocket, you steer blindly off the road with terror tearing through your veins like poison, and in a cloud of dust you know that maybe God is no longer tapping you on the shoulder, asking you to be something more. He’s shaking you to your core just to get your attention. / But you don’t listen. Even now. / / Featured in the group Insomniacs and Other Night Crawlers / Thank You :-)

  • “The journey of meaning is one to be taken alone… usually in the loneliest of places/times, and when all has been laid bare.” ~ Photo-image composite… (one of my 1st attempt pieces as such, thought I’d drag it out from the depths of my hard-drive)

  • Self-portrait Viva La Vida, Coldplay “It was the wicked and wild wind / Blew down the doors to let me in / Shattered windows and the sound of drums / People couldn’t believe what I’d become I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing / Roman Catholic choirs are singing / Be my mirror, my sword and shield / My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can’t explain / I know Saint Peter will call my name / Never an honest word / But that was when I ruled the world…”

  • Designed by Andrea Palladio, Chiesa del Redentore (Basilica of the Most Holy Redeemer), better known simply as Il Redentore (Church of the Redeemer), is located on La Giudecca, one of the major Islands of Venice, Italy. Inside are works by Domenico Tintoretto, Veronese, Palma il Giovane, Francesco Bassano, Alvise Vivarini and Pietro della Vecchia. A festival and the church owe their origin to an epidemic of plague in 1576. At that time the Senate vowed to build the church and to celebrate the Feast of the Redemption; the Franciscans undertook the religious obligations. The building of the church began in 1577 and was completed in 1592. After the dedication of the church the Doge came every year with the chief officials of the state to a thanksgiving service. The Venetians still make a pilgrimage here on the Feast of the Redemption (3rd Sunday in July) to thank the Saviour for the end of the epidemic. A bridge of boats is constructed from Zattere across the Giudecca Canal, over which the procession makes its way to the Church of the Redeemer. In the evening the festival concludes with a magnificent fireworks display and a procession of illuminated boats. Single RAW image Tonemapped in Photomatix Pro 3.2.
